Easy set up and easy to use for even a novice photographer. The camera setting tips that came with the product were very helpful for getting my best possible product photograph. To minimize shadows, I'm using bounce cards on the corners to capture that escaping light from the sides/front of the box. Easy enough to do. Lightweight, easy to take apart and store.

The Porta Studio works just fine. It is easy to set up and take down; stores in a mailing tube. Another reviewer had a good tip. Install the hardware so the nuts are on the outsides of the frame. A little quicker to assemble and disassemble. No obnoxious springy wire hoops to fuss with. Somehow I can't ever re-fold those things. Also, no zippers to snag, no mesh to rip or fray. I liked the ability to adjust the frame and position other materials as side panels if necessary. The simple backdrop is easy to bend to angle light. When I needed to photograph a larger or taller object easy to set the frame feet on boxes or wood blocks.

This is a ok product.. It does need some side reflectors. I also thought the light should be a little brighter. One small piece of the plastic connector on the light cover was broke, But doesn't affect the use.

I am very pleased with the PS5. It was easy to setup and it pretty easy to store. I also ordered the set of 5 colored backgrounds. I like the camera tips sheet that is included with the unit. They are very helpful. I am a woodturner and I have my own web site. I use the PS5 to take photos that can be uploaded to my site as well as for submission to juried shows. I would definitely recommend the PS5 to anyone doing similar work. The unit is well worth the investment.

It is a little flimsy, ABS frame and there are a lot of little screws, but I highly recommend it. Set up is a breeze and the room to work around my objects is great allowing for more customization than a cocoon set up. The back seamless is a strong material and provides an excellent backdrop. Very pleased. Can't beat it for the price, lightweight, very portable.

Overall, I like the PortaStudio. I use it to photograph small items, mainly shoes to sell on eBay. Pros: My pictures look nice and professional. I can (and do) use extra studio lights on the sides to add more light. This cannot be done with enclosed photo cubes. Cons: The legs are a little flimsy. I pretty much leave mine set up all the time. I wouldn't want to try to transport it much.That being said, it would be pretty easy (and probably not too expensive) to have a machine shop make identical legs from aluminum. This would improve it a lot. The light is not that bright. That being said, you can order a second light which mounts below the first, although you will probably still need additional lighting. Overall I like the PortaStudio. If I end up breaking one of the legs, I will probably make new ones out of aluminum.

I bought it with some adorama credit I received and thought the price was great (before the credit). It functions as a convenient and small product photography studio. Assembly is generally easy and takes a few minutes. I love the quality of the light and, again, I don't think it can be beat for the price.

I use the light box to photograph yarn, buttons, shawl pins, notions, needles and other products for several knitting websites. My photograph skills are basic, so I really benefitted from the instruction video and other information provided. The box is easy to set up and you can be up and running quickly. I especially love the continuous background with no seams! All of my photos tend to have a gray background, which I scrub out in Corel Paintshop Pro.

This product was extremely easy to set up and put to use. In less than 15 minutes, I had opened the box and begun shooting test images with great results with true colors and great detail. When assembled, you have a shooting area that is roughly 20" x 20" x 20". The white background was easy to wipe down with a baby wipe, too. If I would change one thing, it would be to change the frame design so it is collapsible. Even if you have to break it down after every use to store, it still takes less time that setting up soft boxes and backdrops. I did purchase a full set of paper backgrounds to use with it, and had great results from those, too. All around a great quality for the price! Less assembly time, less time in post, and consistent results!

I was previously attempting to use speedlites to take pictures of small product tabletop photography. The results were mediocre. When I purchased and used the "MyStudio PS5", the results were much better: more even and well-defined. For simple tabletop photography (and, sometimes, not so simple), I'll be using the PS5 from now on. Great find!

Wow! I've been taking photos using a different light box and getting bad results for some time now. I set up the PS5 and snapped some product photos and the results were amazing right from the get go. What a huge difference the Mystudio PS5 ProtaStudio has made. It's easy to set up and easy to use. Best bang for the buck out there to get professional quality photos without breaking the bank.

I bought this to use for photographing items for auction, and also for general hobby photography. Works great for both purposes. Easy to tear down and store when not in use. Good size and light output. Would definitely recommend.

I was looking for a relatively small, portable, light box/device for photographing some of the small wooden products that I make. Another device was more portable (i.e., collapsed into an attaché case type package) but the footprint was too small. The PS5 on paper met my requirements. The device was not difficult to setup, although the pictures were fuzzy and the perspective changed from one picture to another. It fit well on the table I plan to use and my test objects did well under the "cove". The camera tips supplied in the package were very helpful for initial exposure settings. I did get some reflection from the crease, but using a sidelight helped. The main problem is the "portable" aspect as I must disassemble and assemble each time I use the PS5. To help alleviate having to install the nuts and bolts in tight places, I bought some wing nuts and reversed the orientation of the nut and bolt as shown in the pictures. So I can reassemble the unit by hand (no screwdriver or wrench needed). With that in mind I give the unit a 5 star review as it does what is promised and met my requirements. It is worth the price and experimentation with the assembly. I would recommend it with the wing nut orientation.

Although there are numerous DIY tutorials on the web to create a basic product studio, the PS5 Portastudio Kit shows great return on investment. Simply put, less time constructing and more time shooting.

I have had the pleasure to use the MyStudio PS5PortaStudio for my photography business. The set was simple and the first time I used it was a thrill to see how easy and clean my photos came out. I used the MyStudio to photograph products for jewelry and statue art. I am happy to say that I was able to see the true product with the good lighting with ease from a table top. I was looking for something to take photos for my online business selling sculptures and other small craft items. I tried 2 photo tents and was never satisfied and someone at Adorama suggested the Mystudio PS5 and it is far better than any of the light tents I tried. It was easy to set up and within 10 minutes I was taking the best photos I have ever taken of my products. I followed the included camera tips on how to use it to take the best photos which I would recommend any beginning photographer do. I just ordered the colored background set and look forward to trying those out, but the white background works great for most of my needs.

I am very pleased with the PS5. It was easier than I thought it would be to set up and it has dramatically improved my product photos. I also purchased the set of 10 colored paper backgrounds and while I have only used about 3 of them so far, I am surprised at how nice the photos turn out. The light is very even and pleasing and makes it look like the photos were taken in a professional studio rather than in my living room! I also found the included "camera tips" sheet very helpful. For the price I don't see how you could do any better. This beats my old little light tent hands down.
