I am a flower photographer using a Nikon D90 and 60mm fixed macro and have a Sigma ring flash, but thought this would be easier to setup and take down since no cable - but it is flimsy and the flash clip design is weird - that was the part that messed up most and the foam on the clip fell off on the second use in the field - I may still work with this to see if I can make it more relioable, but will not leave home without the Sigma yet.

I use this for school but I did not know I needed batteries for it so I missed my first assignment because I had to order them as the stores did not carry them.

The flash has the advantage of simplicity, with no camera-mounted module or conecting wire (if your camera fires remotely) necessary. It produces well-exposed photos and has all the features one might need. The best clinical macro ring flash I have ever used.

Works amazingly with my Nikon D-80. The manufacturer should provide an option to include 62 mm diameter filter size adapter in lieu of 52 mm and Sync cable 15-50 with the flash unit which I needed to buy seperately. The battery does not last long.Higly recommended gaddjet if you are doing clinical dental photography. More handy than my earlier Sigma ring flash unit.

Innovation in the macro world!
As a wireless macro flash, the Metz mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital has two individually adjustable reflectors. As a result this new ring-shaped macro flash ensures even, precise lighting On the other hand it also enriches creative lighting configuration in the macro range.
There are no limits to personal creativity thanks to the individually adjustable reflectors (0°- 20°) and the associated finely calibrated light-distribution. In this way it is particularly easy to create effective highlights with any subject. This is all achieved with maximum ease because the Metz mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital automatically adjusts its light output by means of wireless TTL*, making it particularly reliable and precise.
There is also a clear, dot-matrix display, which makes the mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital even easier to use. If you are looking for even greater scope for creativity, you can use the manual control facility of the new mecablitz 15 MS-1.
This enables you to vary the amount of light given off, with six levels of light output. Space-saving, built-in batteries / rechargeables provide an efficient source of power. The Metz mecablitz 15 MS-1 digital is suitable for all camera manufacturers (Canon, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Samsung and Sony-Alpha) even if the camera does not have a built-in flash, because the manual flash mode can also be used by means of the synccable.
* For TTL operation in the remote mode, you need a master flash unit. Depending on the camera manufacturer or camera model, the TTL specific master function has an integrated or external flash, as the Metz 58 AF-1.
