I'm on my second Metz 64 af-1. The first, and now this flash both have failed me with the hot shoe and wiring. Both times the wire has broken on the bottom of the hotshoe. This causes the flash and camera not to read each other to flash. Ill admit both times it was because the camera started to tip and I caught it by the flash and the flash dismounted causing harm to the hot shoe. On the other hand I really liked the flash unit, just not the hotshoe and the little copper wires that break easy

The Metz 64 functions well on the Sony a6300. It does not have all the nicer elements that the Sony F60M has but it is cheaper and is more powerful. The secondary flash is more useful than Sony’s video light feature. Photos taken were nice with good color. The packaging is a little flimsy for the price paid but otherwise the flash itself is well constructed. The color touchscreen menu system is nice and while it takes a little time to figure out the options it is a pleasure to use. Neutral on the value of a touch screen over actual physical controls and it is a preference issue.
