The DM-70 is specifically tailored for snares, toms, and all percussion, while the DM-80 offers an extended low-end response, making it ideal for bass drums and other large diameter drums.
The CM-90 Cardioid Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphone is a versatile and powerful tool, meeting the stringent requirements of demanding digital recording and live sound applications. It's perfect for recording and reinforcing acoustic guitar, drum overheads, hi-hats, snares, piano, and horns.
The CM-90 features a classic small diaphragm (0.79", 20mm) condenser design with transformerless output. This design ensures low self-noise, increased dynamic range, enhanced low and high-end response, and improved linearity across the frequency range. The microphone capsule is hand-tooled from brass and features a 3-micron gold-evaporated-on-Mylar diaphragm for maximum sensitivity, long life, detail, and tone.
The CM-90 uses a carefully selected Field Effect Transistor (FET), chosen for its low distortion and superior signal-to-noise ratio. It is manufactured with the finest materials and features a machined housing with advanced internal shock mount construction for the highest structural integrity and rugged reliability.
This microphone requires 48V phantom power to operate, typically supplied by the microphone pre-amplifier or mixing console. For optimum performance, it is recommended to let the microphone warm up for 5 to 10 minutes before use.
