Was looking for a lavalier mic to use with a Tascam DR-05 recorder.  The Nady LM-140 does not match up well with this, being distorted and not well modulated.  This may involve some impedance imbalance but for my purposes this mic is not going to be able to replace the existing mics in the unit or even my old Radio Shack lavalier mic.  Will keep looking but this isn't the one.

Not a good match with Tascam DR-05

It is a replacement product for one that we had bought from the manufacturer. This is an OEM product replacement which of course matchs perfectly and works perfectly. The best parts about ordering it through ADORAMA, was that it is the same part as NADY and it was free shipping which would have almost doubled the price from other places.

Under Best Uses, I selected Professional Recording, because it helped me out in a pinch. The ME2 mic for one of my Sennheiser G3 wireless system got damaged. I had to mic up two people, but had only one good ME2 mic. These mics have a particular sound characteristic, and I remember the Nady having a similar sound on the low end. So, I mic'd up my client with the ME2, and her co-speaker with the Nady LM-140. Interestingly, he's familiar with the equipment, but didn't notice the different mic I was using. And the real test came when he heard the audio from the filming we did. -- He didn't even notice... and THAT is a testament to the Nady mic. Fortunately, I worked with it enough to know I needed to lower the Sensitivity on on the Sennheiser bodypack transmitter, and in the end, it all worked out fine. Amazing how an inexpensive mic held up as a replacement for a mic several times its price.
