Review Summary
The NEC NP-M300XS 3000 Lumens Short Throw Projector is a versatile projector with a short throw lens. A short throw lens, simply put, can project a larger picture at a shorter distance from the screen than a conventional lens can. Short throw projector is ideal for smaller conference rooms, classrooms and living rooms. But with 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness at a 2000:1 contrast ratio you can be sure the NP-M300XS works in larger rooms too. Short throw lenses are often used in rear projection setups where space behind the screen is at a premium.
But the NP-M300XS can do a lot more than make big pictures in tight spaces. For one thing, it can make them all over the world. It has got an international 100 - 240 volt 50/60 Hz power supply and it can project video in the NTSC, PAL and SECAM standards. If the projector's 10 W speaker isn't loud enough for you or you just want to listen to your program in stereo, you can hook up (optional) external powered speakers to the NP-M300XS's variable audio out jack and control their volume with the projector's remote control.
Speaking of remote control, you can plug your NP-M300XS into your LAN via its RJ45 jack and set it up for remote monitoring and management in just a few minutes. ECO Mode allows for a lower power setting at a 30% reduction in brightness. Lamp power draw drops from 230 W to 170 W while life is extended by 25% from 4000 hours to 5000 hours. In addition, while in economy standby mode, the projector is designed to consume only 0.2 W of power. Optionally, you can even display carbon savings on the startup screen.
