Internet rarely went down. If it did it was an Xfinity issue rather than Netgear all but 1 time. Only issue was the range may not have been enough for the entire house.

Still works great!

I got the AC1200 cable modem router C6220 back in 2020, and have been using it for a better part of the past 6 years now. (Save for a period of about 2 years there where I was living somewhere while using a different router.) If you are using wireless devices, then you need both a modem and a wireless router to use the internet. You can plug one or two devices into this modem via ethernet cable, but you'll want something like this modem/router combo in most cases if you're bringing your own device to connect to your Internet Service Provider. Looks-wise it's a bit dated, but that's to be expected since it isn't a newer model. The device even includes two antennae you screw into the sides of it. Despite that, Netgear made a quality piece of hardware and I can still use it for all of my online needs 6 years after the fact. If you are fortunate enough to still find this modem/router combo brand new or gently used these days, it is still a great product and probably also a decent value if you can get it on the cheap. On the product's box, it says it uses a Netgear app that no longer exists. But this is no problem, since it seems to work just fine with the newer Netgear Nighthawk app they've replaced it with. I've seen where, as of right now, you can get a newer Netgear cable modem/router for about $200. (Based off of browsing my local Walmart.) So keep that in mind should you come across this model, since by now it should be cheaper than the newer models. Still, it's a great little modem/router combo, and I'm likely to stick with Netgear for my next one.

Perfect for Basic Needs

The Netgear modem/router was perfect for simple home internet with relatively low download/upload needs. Setup was super easy with the Netgear app. I also am intrigued by the option to have a separate guest Wi-Fi for additional privacy, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Absolutely would recommend.

Review of AC1200 CMR

A hidden gym on a very popular platform. This is the one you SHOULD NOT scroll past. Dual router and modem function with capacity to serve 1200 MB/ps (as I have experienced) and simple LED display for user friendly troubleshooting. Do not be suckered into leasing equipment from your internet provider. Grab an AC1200 CMR from my guy Jeff Bezos, and stream fast on multiple devices without lag or crash.

Suspected security breach C6220 router modem

Seems compromised so it is not usable at the moment. If I need to replace, I did not get enough years of use to save any money over renting a modem from Comcast. Further, being outside the 90-day free support window, Netgear wants me to pay for help even though the help I need might be because of a security flaw on Netgear's end. The unit has appears to have been breached, password made invalid and after factory reset to default password, attempts to use routerlogin website are also threatened so I can't look into what is hooked up to the router or view settings. Good enough but don't go too far away

This modem works fine for streaming on labtop, smart tv, or smart phone. However I have a small apartment and even in a small space (600 sq ft) if I get too far away the signal is not great and won't load webpages very fast. The antenna things have also come a bit loose and flop down. I've had it for a handleful or years tho and will keep using it. I can't recall the price but it's way cheaper than renting one from Comcast or whoever. Worth the money for basic home use, or find a similar more modern model and go with that.

Changed to Nighthawk

Xfinity did some work in our area and the internet stopped working. They sent a tech out and proved the modem stopped working??? We purchased a new Nighthawk C7000v2 and everything is working beautiful now.
