I don’t know what I don’t know! I don’t know what to compare my modem to! I have had to unplug and restart a couple times now in just the first few months. Net gear or Comcast? Who knows? I do not!

Replacing Comcast

Awesome modem

Great modem bad Xfinity
The modem is great and saves $14 a month in rental fees for a cable modem. Xfinity alleged it had to ping the modem several times to get my network online. The modem is good, so if there is a problem, call Xfinity, who may be making the transfer difficult. You may have to return a rented box before the old network is dropped off of your available networks, AND THEN have Comcast ping your modem again to activate it.

Works fine, but no WiFi
The modem worked great for ethernet and telephone, but we were surprised to find that it did not include a WiFi antenna. Maybe this was our bad, but a modem without WiFi in this day and age seems odd and caught us by surprise.

Excellent results with Netear Modem
I finally had my fill of the continually failing equipment from Xfinity and purchased the exact modem I needed for my home. I plugged it in, needed some help from Netgear which they provided quickly and was up and running flawlessly. With my Netgear Nighthawk router, my home network is now properly protected and connected and working great. Thank you very much for your excellent equipment and support.

Modem CM500V

Best modem with voice for consumers
The best consumer grade router with voice. Better speeds than ISP supplied equipment by approximately 10%. Saves ~$5 a month by not renting from the ISP.

Works well with 250Mbps Comcast Service. Voice service is exceptional. Requires Gigabit router (like Nighthawk) tor maximum performance.

No longer a renter.
Ordered this modem to replace Xfinity one we had been renting for 2 years. Like that it's much smaller, needing less desk space. Called Comcast to assist with setting up cable and phone service and no problems with it to date. Not tech savvy so postponed buying too long.

Modem seems to work fine. Speed as described. Comcast self-installation a little balky to do slower than expected responses from Comcast - not a Netgear problem. Required one modem reset from Comcast after installation (easy to request via Comcast automated phone response system. Smooth sailing ever since.

Xfinity voice capable

Excellent Modem
Currently in use for nearly a month. Unit has 2 phone port but just one ethernet port. It would be better if it was the reverse. Service provider charges add fee if second port requires a service phone line. All you would need is just one line wired into your home phone wiring after disconnecting the local phone provider. (eg.Verizon). Had to wait a month to get the unit due to back order. Phone voice quality is excellent through the modem.

This modem us great!
Setting up the modem was easy. My dealings with Camcast Xfinity were awful, but that isn't NetGear's fault. The modem is working well. I would definitely purchase this modem again.

Great Modem!
The instructions for setting up the modem and connecting the router were great. The process was so easy due to the explicit instructions. I have two friends who bought a different brand and both had difficulties setting it up. I paid $20 more for mine than they paid for theirs, but I definitely got the better deal. I would definitely highly recommend this modem!

Easy install with Comcast cable and voice service. Speed is excellent with clear and transparent voice service when compared to vendors equipment. Only drawback is DOCSIS 3.0 vice version 3.1. Very happy with this purchase. I connected it to My UPS to provide backup in the event of a power failure.
