Paul O : Can this camera take videos thru glass?Jeff G : Good quality through glass depending on glare from sun or inside lighting. Night vision will not work at all through glass.
Shopper : What is the subscription required for nest camera to function?Jeff G : $50 a year per camera. stores 10 days of history, gives motion alerts, can copy clips to your email or send via text. You can do 30 day history for a much higher price, dont remember exactly how much.MARSHALL M : No, not required to function. But it is required to be able to see footage that isn't live. Without the subscription you get still images of when there was motion, with the subscription you'll be able to scroll back in time to see past footage.
Shopper : camera not working after power outage?ANDREW R : For tech support or troubleshooting I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer.

LOVE THIS CAMERA

I have an office on the third floor of my home and I bought this to be able to monitor my 17 year old dog on the first floor to know when she is up and wants to go out as she can no longer climb stairs. I downloaded the app on my phone and had the camera up and running in under 10 minutes. The camera notifies me when there is activity and I can bring a live picture up on my phone. I love the ability to talk as well as hear through the camera.The picture has a very wide angle view and is clear and sharp even at night with no lights on. It is also easily moved to other locations. I plan to get one or two more of these.
