Arrived damaged/didnt work
I bought it brand new and it was scuffed and looked used-even though it was new and sealed. It took 5 hours to set up

Good Wifi, Meh-Satelite
I spent way too much time trying to get the satellite to work with little to no success. I did not feel like waiting on hold to get it to work. The Base modem/router works well but the satellite does not pair easily.

Dead End Customer Service
The main unit seems to work great, but the satellite has never wirelessly paired with it. While my first interaction with tech support was good, I was promised a followup a week ago (and a new unit if the problem persisted between calls) and that did not happen. I've contacted them three times now, with no response. This will be headed back soon unless a resolution occurs.

Great modem-mesh upgrade
Having an older modem that was connected to a separate mesh system worked ok but after replacing it with this unit, my data transfer speeds significantly improved to what we are paying for. With a second unit, it covered more area and floors than three repeaters of my previous system, and installation was fast

mesh sucks
This model you can not select between 5g and 2.4g bc it raves about its mesh intelligence to switch between the two but it cant. The gateway and satellite should cover over 5k sqft yet my phone has dropped 3 times just by walking in my hallway or into my master bedroom and my house is just over 2100 sqft. I like netgear but will be purchasing a different one where in the app you can actually select your IoT 2.4g band. You always want that option for old and new IoT devices. Might work for some but not for me.

Absolutely Great!
Needed reliable internet. Purchased this set as my previous Orbi wasn't compatible with cable.
Love that it sends me notifications of sites or equipment that it blocked so I can choose what to allow.
Was a little hateful to set up and get started but called Netgear support and they were fabuous!
This is our 3rd Orbi systems and have been very happy with all of them.

did not work
They did not work. Cox was not able to communicate with them. Everything was working up until we tried connecting to cable. I plugged back into my old netgear router and it works great.

Sucks doesnt work at all and customer service sucks its been 3 1/2 weeks and cant get a return for it to either get my money back or get a new one so i can try again and see if the second one works

Bad product
This satellite DOES NOT sync with my RBR850 router as advertised (and told to me by tech support). I've tried everything, including connecting the satellite directly to the router via ethernet cable. Waste of money....

Best modem router ever
I was having trouble getting any kind of wifi in my basement tride extenders many other routers etc nothing has worked. I installed this and have great wifi in my basement now

I had higher hopes
This is an "ok" setup the satellite does not show online on the app but supposedly the netgear support says that it is running correctly. Although I have my doubts I just got tired or dealing with this issue. I also don't think the satellite is actually extending my coverage area as I have ran a speed test with the satellite powered on and supposedly working correctly and my speeds didn't change when I just completely unplugged the satellite. So that tells me it is not actually doing any good. I guess this will work for now until finer reaches my area then I will switch and probably go with tp link or ubiquity for a true mesh network set up..

No internet connectivity
I purchased two of these Orbi routers, one was refurbished from Amazon, the other new from NetGear. Neither worked in supplying internet connection despite all the troubleshooting methods were exhausted by both Cox Communications and NetGear support representatives. I upgraded my internet speed to accommodate the unit; Cox could recognize connection when the signal was pinged, but still no internet connectivity for any wireless device, nor ethernet connection to the laptop. I purchased another NetGear product and it works superbly.

Great Cable Modem Router Combo!
This system has completely transformed my home's internet connectivity. The setup was surprisingly straightforward, and I was able to get the whole-home mesh network up and running in a short amount of time. I was particularly impressed with the coverage; I can now get a strong, stable signal in every corner of my house, including the backyard, where I previously had dead zones.

New modem/router
Set up was a bit tricky. Make sure you notify your provider when setting up the modem. Once set up and the app connects you have a great view of how things are connected and working. Really enjoy that our modem and router is able to covet the whole house.

Fast speeds, relatively easy install
We are very pleased that we upgraded our modem to this set. Our speeds have gone up significantly, which is especially appreciated by our son for his gaming. He had been complaining about his ping rate and download speeds, and now he's very happy. I especially love that this system is compatible with Netgear's optional parental controls. I can set time limits and downtimes specifically for our kids, which was a key deciding factor when I chose this modem. The install would have been incredibly easy if I hadn't needed to manually update the satellite's firmware, which ultimately wasn't a huge deal. Other than that, zero issues.
