A huge disappointment.
So not only am I disappointed with the range of the original router, for which I had to buy an extender because it wouldn't cover my whole house, but more so with the outdoors extender that I just bought. Not only did the original outdoor unit did not work, but the replacement they sent me was refurbished and did not work properly either. So do NOT waste your money. Buy something else.

Wish I bought sooner
I live on the lake and this thing pushes my Wi-Fi signal 100+ yards. Everyone on the beach has a great connection.

Easy to use
The outdoor expansion is easy to setup and reliable. I was able to extend my network to cover an outdoor complex of 10 tennis courts. Signal and speed are extremely fast.

Mesh wifi at it's best.
We have 1800sq house with an acre of land. We have Gigabit fiber coming into our home and we use streaming chat daily. My wife is from another country and it is the only real way she can afford to talk to her family. She also loves to garden and take her family on virtual tours of the house. We also have multiple ring cameras as well as smart wifi devices throughout home and garden. We use the RBk50 with satellite and the outdoor Orbi for an amazing throughput of over 800mbps. Thanks Orbi!

Works as described
Happy so far with this product. I do feel there is always room for improvement. The price is still to high for and add-on device when u can buy a new router and 2 satellites for cheaper.

Great Coverage
The network is in place in Florida in a home built under the new hurricane standards which mean block home plus with added insulation and strengthening material inside the home. I have a a router and 5 satellites ( two outdoor units) and not only get 400Mb rate inside the house but coverage out to my dock at a lesser rate but close to 100 Mb. I am extremely pleased.

Great coverage area
The 5Ghz doesn't cover very far, and there is a technical reason why. But there 2.4 coverage and speed are excellent and allow me to stream music over WiFi on my phone while mowing or doing other outdoor activities without eating away my data plan. Love it.

Have 38 connected devices!
Upgraded to the mesh system with 1 indoor satellite and 1 outdoor satellite. My home os over 4500sqft with more than an acre of land so I like to have strong coverage everywhere. I am able to run multiple high bandwidth devices, cameras, TV and computers without any issue. Only challenge was initially locating the best location for the satellite to maintain best signal connection between base and each device. I will probably hardwire the backhaul channel to increase reliability and bandwidth opportunity.

WiFi in the barn!
Previously I used a range extender to try to get network access within my pole barn but it did not work consistently and when it did it was half the band width. Had the Orbi system installed that included the Outdoor Expansion unit and now I half access and at great speed!
The barn is about 25 feet from the Orbi Outdoor unit which mounted in my attached garage and the pole barn is a metal skinned building.

Perfect for Outdoor Components
I was having trouble getting wifi to my outdoor AV receiver and TVs. This fixed all my issues and have eliminated my outdoor Wifi issues. Mine is not exposed to the elements so I cannot comment on how well it will withstand exposure. Mine has been placed in my outdoor bar.

Orbi AC3000
Recently purchased the router, satellite and outdoor satellite. So far all working as expected. Relatively easy setup. The power plugs are all on the large side, which can present a challenge, especially outdoors if wanting to place plug into a protective weather box. Otherwise, excellent wi-fi coverage inside and out.

WiFi Everywhere
Orbi was easy to set up. I have a router a satellite and the outdoor satellite. They are also smarter than me and seem to take a little time to negotiate their optimal configuration. So what I am saying is, my impatience was in unwarranted. Pair them, let them do their thing and in a little bit, WiFi everywhere.

Try Orbi You'll Love It !
Hi, I wanted to let everyone know how happy I am with my Orbi Outdoor WiFi.We now have A Orbi main router , a secound Orbi up stairs and the Orbi outdoor . What can I say they work GREAT.We struggled for years buying every kind of router, extensions you could imagine. Finally we have something that actually works.We have a very strong wifi signal everywhere.We can even go out into our back yard and walk 100 yards from house and still stream movies and ect. Even at the end of our street we can still get a strong signal!It is unbelievable!So I say to you save yourself years of frustration and just go with ORBI ! You will not be sorry ...

Great for outdoor environment

I've used many products in my time and not until now did I have any stellar reviews on a WiFi router or modem product but Netgear has turned a corner with this outdoor WiFi router! It's everything it needs to be and more...with the ability to fair the stormy weather but still keep you connected to your network is outstanding! Tri-band technology at its finest, my barn is at least 75 feet from my home and with my WiFi security camera mounted up in its rafters it has no problem communicating with the rest of the system while I'm away from home. Keep up the great work Netgear and to those of you with outside network connection issues 'what are you still reading this for?' RUN don't walk to your nearest retailer and but the Orbi Outdoor and kiss your problems Good Bye.....

Finally have wifi while doing yardwork
This worked perfectly to finally give us wifi and the ability to communicate back and forth easily while one of us is doing yard work and the other is inside, love it and wish I would have tried it sooner!

Orbi=awesome
My family recently built a pool house on a half acre property that is about 100 feet from our primary residence. We weren't sure how we are going to get Internet to the pool house, in order to stream video and everything else that requires WiFi that is commonplace nowadays.
I did lots of research and saw that the Orbi was one of the highest rated residential mesh Wi-Fi systems. We ended up installing an Orbi router in our primary residence, an outdoor satellite in our backyard, and an indoor satellite in the pool house to solve our Wi-Fi dilemma. Installation and set up was very easy, and now we have a good Wi-Fi connection in the pool house, more than capable to stream video on our TV and watch football by the pool.

Well Built
Have two of these set up with my RBK50. Very well built and acts just as good as the satellite that came with the system. I believe the internals are the same, just externally, built to withstand the elements.

So far so good.
Only had hooked up for a week or so and seems to be doing what it's supposed to do. I would recommend as of now. Hopefully in 6 months it will still be working well
