Easy to install and set up with the Nest App! Once one is connected the others connected seamlessly with your account. The night light feature is great for dark areas. Can mount on same outlet box as previous smoke alarm!

I have not yet had a fire, so I don't know how well it will work in that situation... but in every other way it is fantastic. It talks to my other Nest gear, it works as a nightlight during the dark hours, and it is pleasant to look at from an aesthetic standpoint.

Most importantly this smoke detector has eliminated the "false alarms" my previous smoke detector had every time you boiled water on the stove top. The additional features of this detector put it over the top, the carbon monoxide detector, the night light feature etc.

I love the nest products, I have the thermostat and the detectors and so far I'm very satisfied. The detectors were one of the easiest things I have ever installed.

Easy to install. The wireless interconnected functinon. is a great advantage, when you install them in your old house. You don't have to spend hours/ days to deal with those wires inside the walls.

It thinks, speaks and alerts your phone.
Meet Google Nest Protect
There's never been a smoke and CO alarm quite like this. Google Nest Protect looks for fast-burning fires, smoldering fires and carbon monoxide. It also speaks up when there's a problem, can be hushed from your phone and it will even message your phone in case you're not home.
The alarm goes off and your mind starts to race.
Where's the problem?
Is it smoke? CO?
Burned popcorn?
It's time to expect more from your smoke alarm.
The new Google Nest Protect has been redesigned from the inside out. It has an industrial-grade smoke sensor, tests itself automatically, and lasts up to a decade. It's also the first home alarm you can hush from your phone without any extra hardware required. And just like the original Google Nest Protect, it tells you what's wrong and can even alert your phone.
Meet the all-new Google Nest Protect. The smoke alarm other alarms look up to.
Thinks, before it speaks - Google Nest Protect has a friendly human voice that gives you an early warning. That way you can handle burning toast before it becomes a burning toaster.
Tells you where the danger is - And when one speaks, they all speak. So the alarm in your bedroom can tell you there's smoke downstairs.
It's on your ceiling. And on your phone.
App Silence: Hush alarms with your phone, not your dish towel. If everything's under control and there's only a little smoke, quiet down the alarm from the Google Nest app.
Phone alerts: Everyone in your family can know what's going on, from anywhere. When something's wrong, Google Nest Protect sends everyone an alert in case no one's home.
No chirps: Tired of getting woken up at 2am by your smoke alarm? Long before it has to chirp, Google Nest Protect tells you its batteries are running low with a message on your phone. And don't worry, that won't happen for years.
Safety Checkup: Test all your alarms with a tap. And once the test is done, you'll get a full report.
Family Accounts: Everyone in the family can have their own Google Nest Account. No more sharing a login. You can all use your phone to hush and test alarms. And you'll all get alerts on your phone if something's wrong at home.
In the 1970s, it would take about 30 minutes for a fire to take over a room. Today, it can take less than 5.
Sees both fast and slow burning fires.
The foam and particle board in much of today's furniture make fires burn faster. Technology should keep up. The new Split-Spectrum Sensor uses two wavelengths of light to detect smoke from both fast-burning and smoldering fires.
Over 1,000,000 homes in the US experience high levels of carbon monoxide every year.
Thoughtful, not annoying.
Tests itself: You're supposed to test smoke alarms monthly. But 9 out of 10 people don't. So Google Nest Protect checks its batteries and sensors over 400 times a day. And it's the first alarm that uses Sound Check to quietly test its speaker and horn once a month.
Lights your way: If you need a glass of milk in the middle of the night, the new Google Nest Protect lights up as you walk underneath it. Pathlight is one of our customers' favorite features so we made it better and brighter.
Steam is not smoke: Has your alarm ever yelled at you for taking a shower? Google Nest Protect is the only alarm with Steam Check. It uses custom algorithms and a humidity sensor to look for steam, so you can enjoy a nice, quiet shower.
Count sheep, not chirps.
No one should be woken up by a low-battery chirp at 2am. When you turn off the lights, look for a quick green glow. That's our Nightly Promise. It means all your Google Nest Protects have tested themselves, the batteries are good, and there won't be any chirps. Sweet dreams.
A Google Nest home.
When you add more products to your home, they can automatically work together. And you can control them all from one place: the Google Nest app.
Heating systems can cause carbon monoxide leaks or spread smoke through your home in a fire. In an emergency, Google Nest Protect tells your Google Nest Thermostat (available separately) to turn off the heat to keep the danger from spreading.
