Marsh M : The batteries are low how do, I recharge it? The vision is blurred.ANDREW R : Unfortunately the manufacturer never indicates the reason a given unit was sent for refurbishment. Item may have been a floor model, demo, etc.. It's also possible that the unit did not pass initial QC checks and was returned to the line for repair without leaving the factory. Refurbished equipment is offered to us in batches by the manufacturer, so the status of a single unit would be unknown to us.
Shopper : Does it have a mounting hole? Does the IR illuminator have different settings or just off/on?SHERI J : I already replied to this question a while back. I have a D80 and it works fine. If it fits the camera it should. But I don't know for sure.WILLIAM M : Not totally sure, but it does fit on my D60 and work greatMARK B : I have the D5100. It works fine on that. I think the D50 has a similar lens base, but you may want to check other sources for that.JACKY M : I have no experience with the D50.WILLIAM I : Yep. Works great with my daughter's D3000 which is just a later version of the D50.TIMOTHY L : Bill, This lens should work on a Nikon D50. I've used it on both the D40 and the D5100 with no problems.IGOR S : I did/do not have D50 camera and therefore cannot be sure. However by specifications they should work fine together. My suggestion is: try it. If it does not work return the lens. The lens itself is very convenient. It is not the best quality-wise but if you are not a 'pro' - and I assume you are not since you are considering this lens and using D50 camera - you will be very happy with it. It is sharp enough and most importantly: telephoto range per dollar is unbeatable.BRIAN H : Yes, the lens will work on a D50. This lens has a built-in focusing motor and has electronic contacts for shutter control.

Good in a Pinch

I am pushing these units beyond what they are intended for by deploying them to remote checkpoints in central Afghanistan. I command a 207-man Afghan security force in support of the US Army in Uruzgan. These are inexpensive and robust, needing not batteries for most applications. The downside is that the image is not terrible bright and the IR illumination is only good for about 30m. But these offer good value for the money.
