I recently replaced our old Netgear CM700 Docsis 3.0 cable modem with a modern Netgear CM1000 Docsis 3.1 model. There was nothing wrong with our old modem, it still worked perfectly, however since the data rate from our ISP has increased, we wanted to take advantage of the higher speeds and modernize at the same time. I've run multiple speed checks since installing the new modem, and it is consistantly 300 mb per second faster than the previous model. Just as with the previous Netgear modem, the new one delivers solid, consistent performance at a reasonable cost.

I purchased this modem to replace a previously owned Netgear Modem that had run flawlessly for over 6 years, it had outlived its service life. This modem is twice as fast as my previous modem, was very easy to install and the speed is great. I use the Internet through Cox daily and also stream video with amazing speed. This modem is a definite keeper!

Replaced my Optimum Ubee cable modem with the Netgear CM1000v2. Have been paying for 300 Mbps speed but was only getting around 100 Mbps with the optimum modem. New modem has my speed back up over 300 Mbps. The modem switch was easy with optimum after finally connecting with a human technical support person.

I purchased a NETGEAR DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem from Best Buy to compliment my ORBI router system. The modem was extremely easy to connect to my internet provider and was operational in less than 30 minutes. I noted an increase in download and upload speeds right away. Connecting to the ORBI was seamless and all equipment was on line in minutes. I am very happy with my purchase and will share this with my family and friends.

after 2 hours on the phone with Xfinity and couldn't connect modem we called Netgear and it was determined that the modem was defective. they sent me a new modem and I haven't tried to connect yet. not a good experience

Modem was easy to set up. The only stumbling block was that there should have been more emphasis on the fact that my internet provider needed to be informed that I have a new modem and my account needed to updated to reflect that fact. This was an arduous process because I had to resort to these dumb chat services. What was finally accomplished could have been accomplished in half the time or less if I could've actually TALKED to Xfinity support. Otherwise the modem it self runs effortlessly as did the previous Netgear modem.

The Netgear CM1000v2 is very easy to set up. The instructions included with the product are clear and helpful. After providing the serial number and MAC address to my service provider, activation was quick and seamless. I ran a speed test afterward, and the results were impressively fast! I'm very happy with this cable modem - it's reliable, fast, and a great value overall.

This device did not work for me. When I hooked it up, it would not connect to the Internet. Even the technician from my ISP (Xfinity) could not get it it to connect. He said it would not accept the signals he was giving it. So I had to send it back for a refund. Not recommended.

I purchased this in May 2024 and it has already stopped working. It's showing a green flashing power light, amber flashing upstream/downstream/online lights and a solid amber ethernet light. I have tried resetting and power cycling it with no results. Going on the Netgear Community website/forums shows multiple other people have had this issue and determined it to be a hardware failure with no fix. Netgear only offers a 1 year warranty and 90 days of customer support so I can't even get support unless I purchase a "support card" which is absolutely absurd. I now have a $200 piece of worthless plastic that only lasted 16 months. I had high expectations since I previously had a Netgear modem/router that I used for over 9 years until I upgraded to this one but what a disappointment. I will never purchase another Netgear product again.
