For the price this speed light is great. Can meet all your needs. Varying bounce angles and built in modifiers allow for creativity. Very easy to use in TTL and manual modes. Very light and fits in a small camera bag. Good battery life.

I use this flash for strobist work every day. Super easy straight forward manual controls. I must shoot 100 of flashes a week with this. ... I even sent my first one back due to stopped working. The manufacture sent me new one within few days. I've had this flash about 11 mo with heavy use going strong.

I bought two Di622's to use mainly outdoors in the "strobist" portrait lighting style. I use them with my Nikon D80 and SB800 in TTL mode. The optical slave feature on both works fine indoors - but it will NOT work at all in outdoor light. I can't get them to trigger outdoors at all - never once, even when I am standing right beside them. Very disappointing, as these cannot be triggered any other way than from a master flash in TTL mode. This limitation should be more widely publicized! STROBISTS BEWARE!

I bought the unit specifically for portraits. I wanted the higher model but it wasn't available at that time. The unit was ready to use right out of the box! I was a little apprehensive at first due to the lack of instructions but that didn't last long. The flash also worked great with my newly purchased Orbis ring flash! Oh, the price was great too!

this is a real alternative towards the Nikon made flashes when you look at features and price points. Loks like Nissin Japan knows what they are doing.

It is unstable. I mean it sometime flash and some time not. I returned it and bought sb600.

I recieved this three days before Christmas. The scant instructions made it sound if this flash could interact with my Nikon flawlessly. It did but only about 1/4 of the shots. Sent it back and got the SB 600 speedlight. It has not failed once.
