Step onto the battlefield and command your Pokemon directly-there are no turns! For the first time in the Pokemon RPG series, Trainers and their Pokemon can both move around in real-time battles, and your Pokemon will unleash their moves when you tell them to. Strategically swapping out your Pokemon and accounting for each move's timing and area of effect will greatly help you in this new style of battle.

Harness the power of Mega Evolution
• When Trainers have a strong bond with their Pokemon, a Key Stone worn by the Trainer resonates with a Mega Stone held by their Pokemon, allowing Mega Evolution to take place
• Mega Evolution goes beyond the limits of standard Evolution, imparting even greater power by temporarily unleashing a Pokemon's hidden energy
• Pokemon will change their appearance when they Mega Evolve-and certain ones may even change types-but they're still your same trusty partners

Rogue Mega Evolution
Rampaging Rogue Mega-Evolved Pokemon are threatening Lumiose City. These Pokemon are extra tough to beat, but if you do manage to defeat them, you'll receive valuable Mega Stones as a reward.

Rise through the ranks of the Z-A Royale
You're invited to join the Z-A Royale, a competition for Pokemon Trainers to test their skills and determine who's strongest. Each night, a battle zone for the competition will appear. Prepare yourself by spending the day in wild zones, catching and training Pokemon, then venture into the battle zone and take on other Trainers. Be strategic and complete bonus card challenges as you battle to speed up your climb from Rank Z to Rank A.

Pick your partner
Choose Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as your first partner Pokemon, and then set off on a grand adventure!

Chikorita
Chikorita can use the large leaf on its head to determine the temperature and humidity of its surroundings. It will also use this leaf to seek out warm places, since it loves sunbathing.

Tepig
Tepig uses its excellent sense of smell to find food. It loves to roast and eat Berries, but sometimes it gets too excited and burns them to a crisp, rendering them inedible.

Totodile
Totodile is small, but it has a rough and tough personality. It won't hesitate to take a bite out of anything that moves within its sight. Its powerful, well-developed jaws are capable of crushing anything.

Welcome to Lumiose City
Visit shops, restaurants, and more, all centered around Prism Tower. An urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokemon.

Shops
Lumiose City is filled with trendy boutiques where you can buy new outfits and hairstyles for your character.

Cafes
Relax at one of the city's many cafes and restore your Pokemon's health while making them more friendly towards you.

Wild Zones
The city has been outfitted with "wild zones" in an effort to help humans and Pokemon share the city. They contain all kinds of Pokemon to catch and battle!

Hotel Z
While visiting Lumiose City, you'll be staying at Hotel Z, which will serve as your home base.

Transportation
You can use Holovators to access rooftops and will eventually unlock Roto-Glide, letting you soar temporarily through the air.

Help out around town
Be on the lookout for ways to help out residents in need around Lumiose City-you might even earn a reward!

A cast of colorful characters
You'll meet all kinds of interesting characters on your journey!

Urbain or Taunie
You'll make a new friend-either Urbain or Taunie-who lives and works at Hotel Z, supporting the owner however they can. They may come on strong at times, but they like helping people and Pokemon.

AZ
Known as Hotel Z's enigmatic owner, AZ stands over nine feet tall and claims to be three thousand years old. He quietly harbors a strong determination and will.

Eternal Flower Floette
Floette is AZ's partner Pokemon-and like her towering companion, she too is said to have lived for three thousand years.

Jett
Jett is the CEO of Quasartico Inc., a large corporation driving Lumiose's urban redevelopment plan with the aim of shaping the city into one that belongs to both people and Pokemon.

Vinnie
A busy man with an imposing physique and a reputation for being a fast worker, Vinnie regularly sports sunglasses and works for Quasartico as Jett's secretary.

Battle with trainers from around the world
With a Nintendo Switch Online membership, you can battle up to three other Trainers at once, locally or online, in frenetic real-time battles!
