Questions & Answers

Shopper : are these waterproof, and fogproof?ALFREDO B : No, definitely not!, the term "Weather resistant" leads to confussion and should be removed from the description. In the supplied Product Guide it states clearly: "These binoculars are not waterproof". You must buy the ATB Series as the Trailblazer or the Action Extreme to get waterproofing and fogproofing.KAREN S : I own these and just checked the owner's manual. They describe them as "weather/water RESISTANT" and although you should avoid water splashes, rain, mud, etc., if you wipe them right off immediately, might be ok. Definitely not "waterproof". Also, the only thing I can find on your "fogproof" question is it says try to avoid sudden temperature changes because condensation WILL DEVELOP. I'm in Vegas and we get fog about as often as we get rain! So can't answer from personal experience. Hope this helps. One more thing. These are great for the moon, but wanted to see it bigger so purchased 20 X 80 "giant" binnoculars (well known brand name) with the tripod, and returned them because my view from the Nikon 10X50 was better than the 20 X 80's. Thought the moon would be twice as big with twice the power but that was not the case.WILLIAM Z : They are not waterproof. They are water resistant. You cannot submerge them in water (why would you). They can withstand a little rain if you wipe them down right after use. I haven't had any problems with fog at all. Living in Florida with AC in the car, other binoculars I have owned would fog up just after getting out of the car. I believe I read some where that the Nikon is filled with nitrogyn to prevent fogging, but I can't be sure.SHERRILL S : Although the mfr. does not claim that these are nitrogen filled and purged, I have experienced no problems while repeatedly taking them back and forth from very cold environments (in Wyoming winters) to warm (room temperature) environments. In particular, they seem more fog-resistant than several other pairs of binoculars that I have used. Regarding water resistance, I have not exposed them to rain or other similar conditions, so I cannot comment on that. But, overall, I have been very impressed and pleased with their optical and mechanical performance. If I ever lose or damage my pair, I would certainly want to replace them with another of the same model. All of these comments apply equally to the 10 x 50 and 10 x 35 Nikon Action VII models.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?RICHARD J : Excellent reviews and I am not disappointed. The optics and handling are superb and these focus close enough to use with the bird-feeder on my deck.

A star is born for star gazers

High quality lens and the case is sturdy. The lens covers are easy to use and hard to lose due to strap system to hold the lens.

Good product for the price

I bought them after done my research. They are very clear. I used them for target shooting, so I don't have to go to check target often. They are heavy, not recommend for hunting. I'm happy with this purcharge. They are very good for the price. One thing I didn't like. The cup covers not stay well. I think will lose them sometime.

Very clear, wide angle binoculars

It has high clarity with a wide field of vision. It's a bit bigger and heavier than some other binoculars but that's necessary to get what this excellent pair of binoculars gives you.

What a deal

I asked for these so that I can take them with me to the gun range. When I opened the box and looked through these for the first time, it was like watching a High Definition TV. The lenses are very clear and crisp. The binoculars the self seem very well made. Even the lens covers seem to be made of durable rubber. I highly recommend these to anyone who want a good set of binoculars.

Great Binoculars

Perfect gift for my son, just what he wanted. Plus Adorama provided an excellent price, and it arrived earlier than expected. Will do more shopping via Adorama in the near future.

Great Quality

I wanted a good pair of binoculars as I live in a great location with fantastic views. These were so much cheaper to buy from Adorama than here in Australia. Delivery was fast and efficient. I looked at the moon through these and WOW I was amazed. The only thing I would have liked was a tripod fitting but I never noticed these particular one's didnt have one. Overall - very satisfied

I researched to find a telescope for my grandchildren for stargazing. A University website recommended a good pair of binoculars. I ordered another brand for them which have been fine but are not of the quality of the Nikon pair. I would highly recommend them to anyone. If I were to get another pair they would just be another Nikon.

Very pleased with these binoculars.

These are great for watching the aircraft which fly overhead, and for viewing the mountains/wildlife nearby.

The image quality from these binos are nothing short of breathtaking. Absolutely razor sharp and quite beautiful. They are terrific for astronomical viewing and being so portable are always grabbed before getting out the telescope. In fact they seem to pull in a lot more light [even in the light polluted city area]than my Meade ETX 90 and have a lovely wide field view. Being quite powerful, they definitely benefit from tripod mounting but are still fine for hand held terrestrial viewing. I was quite amazed at how good these are,[...]. I'll be buying another pair shortly. Nikon quality at it's best.

Top brand, great price!

Thse binoculars exceeded my expectations in all respects. I had always heard that ten power binoculars were difficult to use hand-held but that has not been my experience with these.

The Action VII Series binoculars utilize a multicoated, high resolution, aspherical lens system engineered to provide an extremely clear, distortion-freeimage over the entire field of view. The advanced eyepiece design also offers substantial eye relief, which makes the binocular eyeglass compatible

The Action Series binoculars are built on an all-metal chassis and lens fittingshoused in a tough, lightweight polycarbonate body shell. The binocular bodies are ergonomically shaped, tripod adaptable and are rubber coated for an easy, non-slip grip. A new black color scheme complements the updated design of the Action Series binoculars

Like all Nikon central focus binoculars, the new Action Series features a diopter control for total viewing consistency. This control, located on the binocular's right eyepiece, is essential to compensate for common left eye/righteye vision imbalance

Nikon Action Series binoculars incorporate multi-layered anti-reflective lens coatings formulated to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true color rendition and flare-free viewing. The Action Series also utilizes BaK4 high index prisms for clear, round images free from vignetting
