Outstanding and Sharp lens at all focal lengths. I use mine as an everyday walk around lens and have no complaints. Another very fine lens from Nikon!! I bought mine from Adorama and it was shipped very rapidly and packed very well!! I would not hesitate to recommend this lens and Adorama to those looking to buy quality camera equipment at affordable prices!! Adorama 's customer service is fantastic!!

The very first time out with my new camera I was amazed at the image quality I got using this lens. It craves light though and I understood this fact when I went out shooting with it. Give it some sunshine to work with and it will reward you with fantastic photos. I am very impressed with this lens on my camera. I have read a few reviews by owners who claim that this lens "sucks". I could not disagree more with the nay-sayers. Use it within its designed capabilities and it really, really shines. It focuses so fast, so quietly that I wondered if I got the shot the first several times I pressed the shutter. The only wonder I have now is how this small camera and lens kit could produce such fantastic razor sharp colorful pictures. I simply love this lens on my camera. This was not a replacement for the same lens that came with my camera. It was lighter weight, felt less sturdy, and was lacking a switch for manual/automatic. I returned it and bought a used/like new lens.

This appears to be a fine lens. However, there was no notification on Adorama's website that it does not work with the Nikon D-7xxx series of camera bodies, possibly other camera series. After doing some research on the net including NikonUSA.com, this lens is incompatible with this series of camera bodies. When I received the lens, and put it on the camera, it would zoom fine but not focus on either manual or automatic mode. It also appears that Nikon has no plans to upgrade the software in this series of camera bodies to be able to use the AF-P series of lenses. I am a bit disappointed in Adorama for not posting this information clearly but far more disappointed in Nikon after all the years of making camera bodies and lenses that were almost all comparable, without any chance for an upgrade in the body. A later model camera may have given me a 5 star rating, but not in this case.

so the AF are incrediby fast compared with AF-S lens and the image quality are pleasant,the lens is lightweight one thing i don't like it is the 18mm are very distorted, so i have to turn on in camera lens distorsion control in order to reduce the distorsion (still not perfect) not a big deal but...it matter while picked up notice

It will be my 2-nd AF-P 18-55 The first one AF and manual focus stop working after 30 + pictures and maybe total of 2 minutes of video. Nice zoom range. Lens feels cheap. Takes good pictures. Fast focus and fairly accurate. Plastic lens mount.No focus noise in video .I'd say it is OK lens especially for the money and definitely good for video. I will be using it for vacations to have nice pictures and some video.Four stars only because the first one broke. Thank you Adorama for nice and prompt service.

I needed a low cost Nikon wide angle lens for my real estate photo work. When I read abut this lens on the Adorama site I didn't see that it only works for newer cameras. I got it for my Nikon D300s and read the paperwork when it arrived soon. It said it wouldn't work with my Nikon D300s so I sent it back. It will work for other cameras but find that out first.

This lens is optically great, but a fell things are very annoying: Having to unlock the lens to retract or extend is annoying and makes you wast time. Having to access the menu to turn the VR on and off is another very annoying thing. I prefer the switch on the lens itself so I can turn it off easily when I want instead of wasting time looking at a menu.

I'm glad that Nikon made allowances for my older D5500 body to manage the VR lens settings through its menu system, since this AF-P lens does not have a VR switch. CONS: The attractive lens price is somewhat offset by inclusion of a cheap rear lens cap and that the lens hood is not included. Expect to spend about ($) more if you value these extras included with most other Nikkor lenses. I also would have preferred to have a metal lens mount surrounded by a rubber gasket, but I guess they were omitted due to pricing considerations.

This lens came with a D5500 that I purchased. Based on experience with other lenses, I was blown away by the quickness of the autofocus and the sharpness for an entry level lens. Images might be considered slightly soft, but only a very critical eye would ever pick up on it. Paired with the D5500, it makes a very lightweight package that's ideal for travel or spontaneous photography.

I got introduced to this lens as a kit lens that came along with D3400. Even though I returned this package, I ended up buying this lens alone because its that good. The only complain I may have is its plastic mount, but other than that this is a Gem. Very sharp pictures even in dark situations, and operates very quietly. This lens beats some of the other expensive ones right out. Also, to add macro capabilities are outstanding as well.

I've been using this lens that came with the d3400 bundle, for about a month and a half. And I love it. It's light, great image quality, silent, fast. Eventually I'll upgrade lenses and even the camera, but for now I'm more than happy.

I'm new to this. Its my first entry back into photography since my old 35mm days. I love this lenses because I can just pick it up or raise it from its resting spot around my neck and rarely miss a shot. I didn't spend this money to shoot in auto but I'm learning. My D3400 is teaching me. I hope I didn't enter to high up the scale. I haven't even been able to shoot the moon with the 300mm lenses it came with. Looks like someone aiming a tactical light at me. The 55mm lenses is quick and quiet. It attaches very easy and I have se ere arthritis. I'm a little mixed up by it coming off clock wise after being a tech all my life but I'm loving this lense.

Lens focuses remarkably quick and is extremely light. I'm using it on my new D3400. The package is so lightweight that I have it around my neck all the time. Getting amazing shots that I would have missed before. Lens is plenty sharp especially when I turn off noise reduction. Very happy.
