I am thoroughly enjoying my lens kit. I have been using the 35mm lens on portraits of my family and pets. We have a few wild chickens on our property and it captures them beautifully. I have also been trying my hand at night photography with it and it has been working excellent. The 85mm macro lens has been working excellent with close ups of plants and insects. Very easy to get a great shot with these as well. On the 85mm lens the auto focus is a little louder than normal but not to bad. Overall the value of this kit with the two lens, the filters and the cleaning kit is phenomenal. I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking to broaden your lens collection.

I am strictly a hobbyist so using lens' for specific purpose is new to me. My first experience with the portrait lens is great. Used it on a family cruise for my Granddaughter's birthday. Took about 60 photos with it. Everyone complimented me on my skills as a portrait and situation picture taker. I think I love this lens. I have not yet used the macro lens. that is my next objective. I do however expect spectacular results. Nothing like mating a lens to a camera. Mine is a D5300.

I am new to the macro world. I have had good success with this macro lens. I have used it for barbed wire fence, flowers, large and small chains etc...it has also turned out to be a great portrait lens.

Does a good job at focusing on very limited and precise level. You could be far away and take a good picture or close and take an amazing one. Would recommend to the average hobbyist looking for a macro

I dont get time to go out often to take picture. This pair of Macro and Portrait lens is a nice combination to have in the camera bag. Portrait has really good shutter speed to take picture of my 3 yr old who is always running here n there. Macro lens is a must to have during the Spring and Fall color...I just love both the lens. Macro Lens is slightly noisy than the other lenses that came with the D7000 Camera. I would recommend this combo pack. Also, Adorama shipping and handling is awesome. Customer Service is much appreciated. Helen was helping me a lot to get this product on time.

The combo deal with these two lenses is phenomenal! I had wanted the 105mm but alas the price is to much for me to justify the purchase of such a fine piece of glass. So I looked at buying an 85mm micro/macro lens and ran across this bundle kit which, is less expensive than the 85mm on its own and comes with the superb 35mm plus some extra goodies to play with. I have enjoyed the 85mm, it works as well as any of the other lenses in my small collection and allows me to pull in tight on the details I love and fill the frame with them. Its focus has been dead on and even if it needs a little help, it's pretty easy to focus by hand(nice big focus grip area and you don't need to flip the switch from Auto-focus to manual). Downside to the 85mm is focus breathing. If you have framed the shot and it needs to focus (depending on the amount of focus needed) it can mess with your framing by increasing or decreasing the magnification of your subject but it hasn't been a bother to me and I still enjoy the lens. The 35mm DX that came with this bundle, I actually already own and have for quite a few years. It is still one of my favorite go to lenses when working in close to medium distances with the potential of working in low light or if I'm just going to take a photo walk because it's so small, light, sharp, and versatile. So no downsides with the 35mm in my opinion. I would recommend this bundle to anyone looking to add some decent lenses to their kit without damaging their wallet.

I have wanted these two lenses for a while, but for various reasons kept putting off purchasing them. I finally got them. I haven't had the chance yet to use the 35mm. I LOVE the 85mm! It creates such beautiful bokeh! I can't wait until the wildflowers in the Texas Hill Country start blooming this year!

If you're looking for a macro lens and do not have full frame DSLR aspirations, this is a very nice kit. The AF-S 85mm DX Macro lens delivers quite good image quality, has decent build quality and VR, and is much lighter than the full frame AF-S 105mm macro lens. For about the same price as the 85mm macro alone, you also get a fast AF-S 35mm f/1.8 DX prime lens essentially for free. Taking into account the DX crop factor, this lens basically acts like a standard focal length lens (approximately 52mm).

I bought this bundle after wanting it for a while. The one I was looking to the most was the 85mm micro lens, however the 35mm portrait lens stole the show. I was surprise y the quality of both but specifically by the portrait one. Sharp, awesome in low light thanks to the aperture. It's definitely a great upgrade from the standard lenses that I had already.

If you have a crop frame(DX) camera and can afford it, please don't hesitate to buy it. This is such a good lens and a good deal. Adorama makes it even better by adding on these extra freebies for you (Nicely done Adorama folks). Love the macro lens, can easily be used as portrait as well if you set your subject just right. And the 3.5 aperture works perfect on the macro. As for the 35mm, very light weight yet good quality. Gives you like a nice 50ish mm for a crop frame. Clarity is flawless on these. Can't ask for a better lens and a better deal. Only wish Nikon could do combo deals like these for their telephoto lenses.

Adorma is the only place to get your camera gear in my opinion. Great customer service, usually best price, fast shipping. Never had a problem with any of the gear purchased. Both lenses in this kit are great. Still learning so don't really have the knowledge for details.
