This was purchased in 2010 without knowing (as I see now) it is listed as Gray Market. Anyway, it performed well as the optics are of quite high quality, never needed any repairs, but was later sold after 8 years of good use and replaced with a newer Nikon f/2.8E version.

Ordered my new Nikon 70-20. My expectation was it would take a good week to get it, but to my surprise it was here within a couple of days! And to put the cherry on top, everything was in perfect condition, and there were a bunch of really awesome add-in in the box with it! As usual Adorama Rocked!

I've had the 70 - 200 mm f2.8 for many years. It's always been a FINE lens. This version, with the updated VR is EVEN FINER. The attached photo, taken handheld at f11, 1/60 s I never could have taken at this quality in the past. Of course, the sale price really helped me decide to upgrade.

I love the lens. Its focuses fast and takes very sharp pictures, especially in VR mode. It feels very solid in my hand.

This Lens I have watched and debated about for quite a long time. My friend has one and finally I just had to make the leap. It is a very versatile lens. Tack sharp and one that I would highly recommend. I do a lot of wildlife shooting and while it is heavy a Monopod helps with steadying it. I am so impressed with it already. Hands on made it even better than I had heard it to be. I can see myself using this lens for a lot of my photography shoots. I wish I had purchased it sooner and that is my only regret.

I shoot motocross and bought this lens to compliment my 200-500 5.6 lens for getting in closer on corners. I love the sharpness of my 200-500 but I've found that, given how much less weight this 70-200 is, the big lens hardly ever comes out now. This is a great lens. Sharp, fast focusing and easier on my back during a long day at the track. Love it!!!

Resisted buying this lens because I already had a Nikon 80-200 2.8. Finally traded in the 80-200 and bought the 70-200 2.8 g VR. WOW! I look for excuses to go out and use the lens. It is fast and spot on focus, holds its own with my best primes.

Just got this lens with a new D750 days before a Costa Rica trip. It worked out really well for wildlife on overcast days under the trees. I paired this set with a D7000 and 35mm primary to cover all possible shots, I don't want to change lenses in the humid rainy jungle. Also, bring a big plastic bag to reduce fogging, it took about 25 minutes for the lens/camera to warm up from hotel room AC to outside temps before I could make shots. At ISO 1600 I used all the speed of this lens to capture the action. The zoom was sufficient for tree trunk based monkeys, but not across the river crocodiles. Also a bit short on treetop birds. The resolution of full frame helped me to process the shots afterwards. I didn't use a monopod, but will likely get one now. Autofocus was tricky due to branches and trees in field of view, so I went manual on many shots, which worked easy on this lens. As I just moved up to full sensor, all my old gear is undersized. I barely fit this lens into my old camera backpack(Kata 3n1 10) with not much else. The zoom was the best I have ever used. I could video handheld and zoom without shaking the camera due to a sticky mechanism. even better than the D750 kit lens. Loved the kit contents as I had a protection filter right off the bat, but will upgrade this due to quality, it developed a radial crack sometime during the trip. The other kit contents will be used in the future. The lens is a bit heavy, so I will now be going for a better shoulder strap system. Hanging it around your neck where you likely have a sunburn is hard. I ended up supporting/carrying it in my hand on most hikes. Pros: Fast, Fast, Fast, Zoom smoothness Cons: Heavy, big Consider: monopod, shoulder strap

First off, Adorama handled the order extremely well…no issue with them. Ive read this lens has gotten rave reviews, so I decided to upgrade. Unfortunately, I suspect the lens I received may have a focus issue primarily at the 200mm zoomed range, or at least the problem shows up more at high magnification. The focus plane doesn't appear flat…clarity seems to be more to the right of center and the focus spot a bit below center, where it was framed.. Wide open (f2.8) the resolution is not crisp. I tested the lens with 3 cameras….D-90, 5200 and the 7100 bodies. All 3 showed similar but not identical issues. If it were on only ONE camera body, Id have it recalibrated. I have no idea what kind of QC Nikon has these days, but I do think the issue is with the lens and not the cameras.. I own a much older "D"version of this lens, minus the VR or tripod collar, and that lens tested sharp, so I've decided to hold onto my old lens and manage with it, for now. Aside from the focus issue, the lens and accessories came as described, so I have no reason not to use Adorama again for a future purchase.

This is a very versatile lens. My main purpose: I use a Nikon D5300 with this this lens for stills and video surveillance mainly at night. These photos and videos have to be clear, clean and concise due to being used in a court of law as evidence. I have had not problem proving or disproving an Issue in question since the pictures are perfect and speak for themselves. Thanks Nikon for a great product.

I've used the non-VR version of this lens for the past 20 years and it's been my favorite lens. But this one is far better, I can't believe how well the VR works. It's not marketing gimmick, it's for reals!

My first entry towards the Nikon f/2.8 Trinity. I love what I've seen out of this lens so far - lot's more to come. Yes, it's heavy, but REAL glass - and lots of it - IS heavy. Nice kit with this lens but honestly I have NO use for the video focus tracking thingy. Love ADORAMA. They're the best!!!

Shipping came on time as promised. The box that it came it seems scratch up and with dents that I thought I might be getting a used item, but tat's just the box. The lens was superb. Brand new and no dust specks. Lens is sharp, fast, but heavy (that is expected though). I mainly do portrait photography, and it does a great job for that. Taking pictures in a house with this lens might be little tight unless you just do head-shots. Great for shooting outdoors or larger venues & churches. The lens is quite big, so keep in mind of your bag storage. I have a Lowepro Fastpack 250, which fits the D750 attached to the 70-200mm, along with my 24-70mm & 50mm quite comfortably with other items. However, if you keep the lens hood on, that might be tough. i managed with quite a bit of configuration with the dividers... Got all my items and no probs with the other accessories either (filters, cleaner) I haven't tried the lens cap attachment yet.

Great lens! Yes, it's heavy, but it takes great photos. I've recently used it for sports photography, and I love the way it focuses fast and allows fast shutter speeds in low light. I've also got the 16-85mm and 70-300mm lenses, but the 70-200mm actually makes photography easier for me because it's exceptionally sharp. I wish it weighed less, but this lens is my favorite.

The lens is one of the Nikon corner stones and a must have for any professional. Being a professional lens it is built like one and feels like it. It is a heavy lens and you will want a monopod or tripod for long shoots. The focus is fast as expected and low light is not an issue. The extra filters that come with this package are excellent and worth it. You can not go wrong with this lens and the free stuff.

The foot including tripod mount came with mine. Will not work on a Wimberley. I am thinking you will normally use handheld. Great lens, very sharp, fast focus Use this in wildlife shooting quite a bit. Great way to pursue the Trinity of Nikon lenses. I do not think you go wrong with this lens selection.

This lens replaced my 80-200 F/2.8 AF-s. Much lighter, faster autofocus and VRII. Pricey but worth every penny. Money well spent.

This lens is great, really heavy-wish the tripod ring would come off. I would not spend the money unless you are shooting in low light alot.
