This lens was designed to work on all full frame dSLRs as well as film cameras -- such as the F5, F100 and F6 -- which have both command and sub-command dials.
It is one of the very best lenses Nikon has ever designed and truly a bargain at this price, given all of the other items included.

It is my 'go to' lens for action.PATRICK N : You can check with Nikon to be absolutely certain, but this lens and all its functions should work with any currently manufactured Nikon DSLR body. Certainly any supplied to the US market. I currently use mine on a D5100. In moving to FX you will lose the additional magnification factor of the DX format. The lens will also work with previous Nikons, although automatic functions become inoperable as you move to older bodies. On my FM2T, it is manual only.STEPHEN R : Yes, this lense should work on the D600. The mounting site is actually on the "foot" that is located on the "collar" which wraps around the lens near the rear of the lens. You can also remove the "foot" and attach the lens directly to your tripod head, if you prefer.
Just be aware: this is a HEAVY lens so you'll want to use a sturdy tripod/head that's rated for the weight of this lens plus the weight of your camera body.
