Love this lens, has a really fast focus, outstanding picture quality. I have the 200-500, but wanted something to hike with and this does a really good job.

Afraid my ?back ordered? lens would not arrive in time for our South America trip, I bought another similar brand second hand. When the NIKON arrived I used both lenses to photograph a LACROSSE game! The NIKON with VR absolutely shined! It?s lightweight and perfect for travel and produces outstanding photos on my D850!

I could not be any happier! It takes wonderful photos of the squirrels and birds eating birdseed outside my apartment during daylight hours. I would buy it again, at twice the price. All of my other lenses are prime lenses, and the picture quality on this light weight zoom lenses is equal to the quality I get on the primes. Years ago, I bought a zoom lens (24-125mm) to use with my film camera, and the photos were full of distortion. After that experience , I decided to only use prime lenses, until now. For indoor photos, I still stick with my 1.8 aperture primes.

Purchased upgrade from older 70-300G VR version. Much faster and precise focusing on my D7100 and Z5 with FTZ. Sharper than the older G version in the 200-300mm range though still a bit softer at 250-300 range than shorter FLs of this lens and much better than the older lens. Best sharpness at 300mm seems to be at f/8. Quite usable throughout focal range. Not as sharp as the 300PF but costs less than1/3 as much. A great bargain for a zoom in this range. On Z5 a perfect and affordable complement to the Z 24-70 S f/4

I really like this lens. It's great for bird photos without breaking the bank, easy to carry, and a super match with a D7500.

Love this lens. The VR works exceptionally well at slower shutter speeds giving you the ability to keep the ISO low. Can?t beat the price vs quality.

I purchased this lens to complement my 24-70 on my Z7II. The first few photos came out great, we will put it to the test when we head to Ruidosa NM next week.

This lens was NOT compatible with my Nikon D40 camera; had to send it back. The lens looked and felt very nice. Customer Service was very receptive to assisting me with my return.

I bought this lens to supplement the kit 24-120 on my Nikon D780. It has a nice feel and smooth zoom. The focus is spot on and fast. It is very quiet without any of the chatter I heard with my DX VR lens. At 26 oz, it?s not that heavy and balances well with the weight of the FX camera. Tripod mount to the camera will work just fine. It mounts quite snugly to the body but I think that is additional dust protection. I think the combination of lenses will be a little better quality than just one 24-300 mm which I had before on my D7100. I also bought the Lowepro 11x18 cm soft case. It fits fine. Any smaller one will be too snug with the sun shield.

So far so good. I had the prior AF-S model and that died on me after almost 10 years so I picked this up. It is definitely faster and Sharper than the prior model.

I can't say enough good about this lens. Sharp, great range, quiet, balanced, and really compact for it's range. It isn't an f4 or f2.8 lens, but with good lenses, understanding it's limitations, and good technique you'll be happy with this lens. It was the last lens I sold when I want mirrorless, and the first lens I bought when I went back to f-mount. :)

I am so impressed with this lens it is so sharp at all focal lengths and every aperture. It is just as sharp as my 70 200 f2.8 and I gained another 100mm.

This beautiful lens arrived here just a few days ago and it is a wonder. Super-fast and amazingly sharp autofocus, smooth operation of the zoom, vibration reduction works and works quite well, And, it renders great pics with extremely accurate colors.

Amazing lens compared to the mechanical focus, non-VR lens that I replaced. The AF-P is very quiet, fast and precise. The VR helps immensely when you really don't want to use a tripod.

I purchased this zoom lens as an affordable replacement for a manual focus zoom lens from the film era. This zoom is sharper on digital, and so fits the bill. I wish the zooming collar were smoother, as it feels like dull drag. (I would want a more expensive zoom lens, if I used this focal range more than I do.) The sharpness and color produced are impressive on video, using the D750. The camera was able to track lateral movement, but the camera did not do well with movement approaching the camera. The lens focus is accurate with video; it is up to the camera to keep up. The attached photo of a dog was shot at ISO 800 as was needed to get 1/500 sec shutter at the maximum aperture of f/5.6 under heavy overcast.

I purchased this lens to use with my D7200. So far I have successfully used it to capture the Blue Angels practicing for their winter season. This lens is sharp and the focus is quick, quick enough to lock on to fast moving F-18 Hornets flying by. Image quality is great with this lens, and while it is somewhat large, I think it's a good compromise when compared to more expensive, larger lenses.

I am very impressed with this lighter weight zoom lens. It is great for an outing that you just don’t want something heavier and don’t intend to bring the tripod. Pictures were bright, colors true, and focus sharp. All for a reasonable price.

I use this lens on a D750, and D3400. It works great on both bodies. Good, but not particularly impressive vibration reduction. It's a big lens, but focuses fast, and quietly. I also have a Tamron 70-300, and feel the Tamron is at least equal to the Nikon in build, with just a little better IQ, which could be the result of better stabilization on the Tamron.

Incredibely fast and sharp, great on DX bodies too, one of the best prosumer lenses Nikon has ever made.

I bought this lens this week to use with a cropped sensor D3500. I've been testing it daily, and I'm blown away by it (blessed be the gentleman from B&H who encouraged me to "step up" to this full frame lens from the DX version I had in mind, he knew what he was talking about.) The lens build is fantastic; the materials feel absolutely "pro level" to the touch and the huge zoom ring is not only absolutely smooth, but a pleasure to use. The lens is heavy enough to make you feel you're holding...

An excellent telezoom at all focal lengths
By Scrondar
I bought this FX lens (it works on DX bodies as well) primarily because I needed reach beyond what the 24-70mm f/4 S on my Z6 offers, and all of the glowing reviews. At 300mm on a tripod, this lens produces rich colors and sharpness to rival any Nikkor lens in its class. It works perfectly with the FTZ adapter, with no lag in AF. Handholding at 200mm and above calls for a fast shutter, but that's the case with any telephoto zoom. For the price, it is worth adding to you collection.
Nikon proudly presents an update to its versatile full-frame 70-300mm tele zoom with improvements to image quality, autofocus, speed, VR image stabilization and more. The lens strikes an outstanding balance between size, zoom power and Vibration Reduction, making it a great choice for handheld photos and videos of sports, action, concerts, weddings, wildlife and more. Whether you shoot an FX or DX camera, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR frees you to shoot on-the-go from nearly any distance.
The AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR is an advanced lens that draws peak performance from Nikon's latest generation of FX and DX cameras. Its versatile 70–300mm focal length range (105–450mm on DX cameras) is great for everything from portraits to close-ups of nature and wildlife.
The AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR incorporates Nikon's stepping motor (AF-P) for faster, quieter focusing that's ideal for fast action and video recording.
With an f/5.6 maximum aperture at 300mm and a nine-blade rounded diaphragm, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR produces a soft, round bokeh blur that beautifully complements its telephoto perspective.
Nikon continues to innovate in Vibration Reduction technology, opening new possibilities for handheld shooting and enhancing low-light capabilities, especially useful for a day shooting at the zoo, school sports or family events.
At just 24 ounces, the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR is comfortable and balanced, even on Nikon's most compact DSLR cameras. Its Internal Focusing (IF) design keeps the lens shorter, and its smooth focus ring lets you seamlessly take control when needed.
Dust- and drip resistant and silky smooth zoom control
The lens is sealed to protect against dust and water droplets letting you follow your passion wherever it leads. The AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR's large, comfortable zoom ring provides optimal torque for smooth, even zooming across the entire range.
Close focusing and consistent high-speed shooting
Get as close as 3.9 feet from your subject with a maximum reproduction ratio of 0.25x for dazzling close-ups at 300mm. A specialized electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism (E) operates in precise sync with the camera's shutter for reliable exposure control during high-speed sequences.
*Based on CIPA Standard. This value is achieved when FX-format compatible lenses are attached to a FX-format digital SLR camera and zoom lenses are set at the maximum telephoto position.
A/M stands for Auto-Priority Manual Mode. This mode also enables an easy transition from autofocus to manual during AF operation. However, mode switch sensitivity has been altered to reduce the possibility of sudden unintentional switching to manual focus while shooting.
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting. With conventional D/G type lenses, the diaphragm blades are operated by mechanical linkage levers.
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
Select NIKKOR lenses have a focusing mode which allows switching from automatic to manual focusing with virtually no lag time by simply turning the focusing ring on the lens. This makes it possible to seamlessly switch to fine manual focusing while looking through the viewfinder.
Nikon's "P" series of NIKKOR lenses use a pulse motor (utilizing stepping motors) to focus smoother and quieter than previous drive systems. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.
A Nikon in-lens technology that improves image stability by automatically compensating for camera shake. Lenses that offer VR will feature the abbreviation VR on the lens barrel.
