I love my new Nikon lens - it's easier and a little lighter than the one I am replacing with it. The pro-kit has some very useful products in it, too. I did not receive all of the items in the kit, though. I didn't receive the focus shifter or the Vivitar lens kit. I think they are back-ordered, and hope to receive them soon. I've made purchases from Adorama before and have always been satisfied with their service.

I like this lens a great deal. I bought it after a very disappointing experience with the Nikon 18-300. Using this new 70-300 lens with my Nikon D5300 required that I update the firmware in the camera. That was quite easy. My initial walk-about today with this camera was a joy. Very fast and accurate autofocus, even looking through branches at birds. There was just one instance where a large weed was between me and a bird and was swaying in the breeze. I lost the focus on the bird once, but moving just slightly to one side solved that problem. The quality of the images is excellent.

It arrived today and I threw it on the camera and tried testing in failing light. I'm going to need to learn to get the most out of it as I'm used to my 70-200 f 2.8. However, where there was light it seems pretty sharp, and I do think it's good to have a compact telephoto zoom in my kit. Love the better quality of the more expensive lenses, but this wins on the portable front. Have to say it was fun.

Purchased a refurbished lens on-line and was concerned about the look and feel. This lens arrived like new. Clean, no scuffs, fast focus, quiet, clear lens. Wouldn't know that it wasn't new, except for the box. Would definitely look to other refurbished items based on the quality.

This lens is exactly as described. For speed and accuracy of focus and clarity and accuracy of image it is far superior to the Nikon 55-300mm 4.5-5.6G ED VR it's replacing.

For what it is intended, this is a fine lens. Sharpness is right up there with the pro lenses. Where this lens shows its price is in build quality and slow aperture, especially at the longer focal lengths.

This is easily the best DX Nikkor I have ever used. It is very sharp and focuses phenomenally fast. Bokeh is quite nice wide open. The VR works very well -- I have shaky hands and at 300mm I can use it down to about 1/125 of a second. My wife can use it down to 1/60 with no problem. I bought the lens refurbished, which saved me a lot of money. I haven't noticed any issues with it in 4 months of heavy use.

Great lens for the money. Crisp at 300mm. Not a lot of flexibility at low light, I carry a second rig with a lower stop lens on it. Good for a crop sensor setup, more effective zoom.

The auto focus has been great 99% of the time. The few times I've had problems were when I tried to focus on an object too close or too far. I understand too close, but I don't yet understand why the auto focus does not work well with distance. I talked to Nikon representatives and they tell me that it can happen in both cases.

I’m bought a new camera thinking this was the only one I would ever need, well for how much I love the new camera, I missed my Nikon. This is a great 300mm lens paired with my D7500. It arrived in great condition and pictures are sharp and in-focus. I can't praise Adorama enough for their prompt delivery and spectacular customer service. I'm an avid birder on a budget that is just starting out with photography and needed a camera to start so that is where a good chunk of cash went. This lens does not quite have the reach I would like so I end up cropping a lot of pics. With that said, I am still very pleased with the quality of the cropped pics and will live with that until a longer telephoto lens with a wider aperture fits the budget. I could see this being a great lens for capturing sports action.
