Just a simple small stand. It works well; the SB-R200 snaps in place and this stand is very convenient because I am using this little flash for effect for my general flash photography. I'm not using it with a ring.
Genuine OEM replacement.
This is a genuine Nikon part, same as the one that comes with the SB-R200 flash unit. My only comment is that I wish Nikon would make a version strictly to adapt the flash to 1/4-20 threads and not as a stand. I bought these to cut them down. Really Right Stuff makes a pricey adapter, well made, but taller and heavier than a simple plastic adapter. For handheld macro work small and lightweight is key.
