Back In Business
Original HB-29 gave its life up protecting long lens after superannuated outstanding football lensman was knocked on his keester, the product of holding on a fantastic shot and not paying attention, by a high school linebacker; camera and said lensman survived quite nicely...said HB-29 not so much.
Adorama got the call and shipped an exact replacement promptly; great service and the price was absolutely right!
Adorama: my go-to place to put things back together as well as upgrade things in the photographic tool box.

Sturdy for what it is
A little expensive compared to others but also better quality, I think the trade off is about right.

Very wel constructed
Very wel constructed. Has a latch that you press to release from hood, so that you don't have to worry about it coming off.
However, it fits very tight. So tight that I had to take it to a camera store for help. They had trouble getting it off as well. Once we figured out the tightness, we were able to get off after that. This is way I rated it 3 stars instead of five.

item showed up in one piece new in box
item showed up in one piece new in box and jumped onto the lens all by it's self when I opened the box- A friend ordered the same thing from amazon and had to manually attach to lens; thank you adorama!!!

Outstanding product and customer service
This lens hood has the typical high level of fit and finish we have learned to expect from Nikon. It is perfect designed to not vignette with the 70-200 2.8 zoom while eliminating lens flare.

Perfect fit

Lost Mine
Fell off too often. Just returned from a 5,600 mile trip to Yellowstone, Tetons, Moab etc... About 2,000 miles into the trip I noticed it was missing. Fell off numerous times in the past before this trip. Need the protection but will not spend the price that Nikon wants for a replacement. Will look for used of aftermarket.
If you find it I will send you postage if you mail it to me ;-)
