Nikon HB-32 Flower-Type Lens Hood. Works like it should. It's Nikon!

This review is for Nikon HB-32 Bayonet Lens Hood. Designed for AF-S DX 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, AF-S DX 18-105mm F3.5-5.6G ED VR, AF-S DX 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G IF-ED and AF-S DX 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED. These lenses all have 67mm ring size. The Nikon HB-32 fits and works on my AF-S DX 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens perfectly. Adorama promptly shipped the HB-32 in a compressed foam mailing bag and it arrived undamaged. I am happy with my purchase.

Nikon HB-32, a real disappointment!

The HB-32 lens hood did not measure up to my expectations. It was too shallow allowing stray light to strike the front lens element. Maybe my expectations are too high--cheap lens, cheap lens hood!!!

Cheaper isn't better

After getting my Nikon dslr last year, I opted to buy a generic HB-32 lens hood from Adorama that cost about $ less than the Nikon-branded HB-32 hood. That was a mistake, since the generic hood never fit right, falling off the lens repeatedly. I finally trashed the generic hood and bought a genuine Nikon hood from Adorama, which performs as a good lens hood should.

Great for outdoors shooting on my Nikon 18-140mm DX lens. In low light indoors it can block the AF-assist illuminator.
