Not a lot to say, it's a lens hood after-all. It's built well, in fact tapping on it (when mounted) with a finger nail makes suspiciously metallic chime type of sound. My lens didn't come with a hood (used), this was nice surprise with the HB-36. For those in doubt, this is the Proper hood for the VR version of the 70-300mm.

This hood locks on to my Nikon 70-300mm lens easily and tight, unlike my cover that was always falling off of my shorter lenses.

This is my second lens hood because I broke the first one when I accidently dropped my 70-300mm lens! Luckily for me, the hood took the hit and cracked, but the lens was fine. Needless to say, I immediately order a new hood. I don't shoot without it day or night, just for the peace of mind to protect my lens.

What else can I say, other than my Adorama purchase was perfect in every way? In addition to the lens hood (the hood was, of course, for the lens) I purchased a used Nikon 70-300mm VRII zoom which was EXACTLY as described (MINT, NO internal dust specks), I couldn't be happier.

This a great lens hood. To the people who rate this lower because it doesn't fit a 70-300mm, you bought the wrong hood. This is for the 70-300 mm VR not the 70-300mm without VR.

This lense hood does not fit a 70-300mm lense. The correct siz should be HD-26, not 36.

ITS A VERY NICE LENS HOOD, BUT I NEED IT FOR A HB-26 WHICH I FOUND OUT THEY DON'T MAKE, SO I SENT IT BACK WISH I HAD THE LENS TO FIT IT. MADE SOLID AND PRICE IS RIGHT.

Much better than the knock offs.
