Alireza B : Hi everyone. I have this Nikon 20mm f/2.8 AF-D lens and I want to use UV filter like Hoya and also the HB-4 hood at the same time. Do you think this may cause vignetting (maybe the filter may be visible in the pictures????)FRANCIS I : Hello Alireza, I purchased the same lens, the HB-4 hood, and a Nikon NC filter for a close friend. She has taken several pictures with this lens including several shots at f / 2.8 and has not experienced any vignetting. The hood is designed for the lens, if you experience any vignetting I would tend to think its the filter, not the lens hood. FrankGEORGE Z : I have used the hood on my 20mm lens and the D300. I didn't see any vignetting at most f stops except 2.8. There was some slight perceptual vignetting but not generally noticed. I like the lens and the hood.JAMES M : I wish I could help. I found the 20mm to wide for my use and I returned the lensWill L : The hood wouldn't cause vignetting -- mine doesn't. The filter could I suppose but I'm not sure. The type of camera could make a difference too -- DX, no problem at all. FX would be more susceptible.

HB-4 Lens Hood

Plastic and looked not very strong. It is the only hood option for an ultra wide lens like AF20/2.8D. Any other choice? A bit expensive for the material use but just right for the design for no dark corners. The ultra wide lens can have dark corners if used with something else as hood other than the HB-4.

light easy to use. if pressed into a tight place in the camera bag, deforms a bit - so far, i've been able to work out the distortion, but sometimes i worry it's not going to come out. overall good for the price.
