It's plastic, so it won't break easily. But, I had to return it, because Adorama does not sell one for the Nikkor 24-70mm AF-S EG D (not VR) lens and I thought this one would fit. Nope. No big deal, I sent it back for $0 and got my refund within a day. I went to KEH to buy an off-brand one.
