However, the dimensions of the Nikon front lens cover for the 14-24 mm wide angle lens are: Internal diameter - 3.820 in Internal depth - 0.950 in Outside diameter - 4.120 in Outside depth - 1.172 in I measured the cap using a high precision digital caliper but if you are so inclined, you can use an inexpensive caliper that you can find in any of the major hardware chains. It is about 80mm and the front element for a 9X30 would be in the 36mm range this question must have been forwared to me by mistake because the lens cap I purchased would have no relevence to the binocs.

Perfect fit, just like the original.

We live in a remote area where the only camera shops are Target and WalMart. The ability to order from Adorama is a gift. It is fast, easy and you don't have to have a large minimum order. This lens cap matches the original cap my lens came with. It also came quickly which is great as this lens has a large rounded fish eye which is very exposed and the fear of damaging is was great.

Slips off too Easily and gets Lost

Totally agree with the other reviewer; this lens cap slips off the lens too easily. I have just lost mine and I'm not too pleased at having to pay $23.50 for a replacement.

It works, for a price

used as a front lens cap on my 10.5mm fisheye lens. It works but is way too expensive. Its the only cap around so if you need the cap sadly you have to drop 30$

I won't go anywhere else for my toys!

I lost the lens cap for my AF-S nikkor 14-24mm 1:2.8G at a shoot and couldn't find it anywhere locally(Big Island, Hi). Thanks to Ken Rockwell's suggestion of ADORAMA for equipment!! I won't go anywhere else for my toys!

It fits

I carelessly lost the lens cap for my Nikon wide angle lens -- and that's a lens that requires a lens cap at all times except when in use. The replacement cap fits. I plan to be more careful about where I put it when I remove it.

Very unhappy with the lens cover.

My wife and I were in India last month. I was using the Cotton Carrier because I was going back and forth between two cameras. The lens cover over time becomes loose and will not remain on the lens. A better cap needs to be developed that locks on like all other types of caps.

Don't lose your lens cap - or else!

One of the criticisms of the AFS 10.5 Nikon fisheye is that the lens cap can easily fall off. So, I lost mine while photographing some WWE wannabe wrestlers in Mamou, LA. This replacement (which has "Nikon" written on it), cost $35 or so but you have to have it to protect the front of the lens! This time I bought a simple lens keeper that has a stick-on tab for the lens cap, and an elastic cord that wraps around the lens. Now when the Bayou Boys slam into me i wont lose that cap!
