Shopper : Will a rocket blower fit in the pouch with the lens pens?MATTHEW Y : Nope. The rocket blower I have is about 7.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches in size. The lens pouch is about 5 3/4 x 3 1/2 x 2 inches. The Rocket Blower is longer and thicker than the case. The Nikon Lens Case opens like a clam shell and fits the items it comes with well without much additional room. Adding extra items would be a bit of challenge.RUSSELL C : No it sure won't , you'll have to keep it to it's self which isn't a big deal.MICHELLE G : No, it won't fit.
Shopper : Is this safe to use on CMOS? I have a Nikon D300 and CMOS needs cleaned. If this product won't work what do you suggest I buy?THOMAS G : Best product I found was a battery powered small vacuum and a electrostatic charged brush that is as wide as the sensor. Brush in one direction, inspect and vacuum the surface of the sensor very carefully. There is a kit that offers the brushes, vacuum and inspection light. The Nikon brush I think will remove some debris, but pushes most somewhere else on the sensor surface. It can be difficult to remove all of teh debris.JACKIE M : David Busch's books tell how to clean a sensor although it is not recommended - it is a very tedious process that must be done with caution, but it can be done. Suggest you read his book on your Nikon. I believe he recommends a specific blower tool as well, I would not use the kit shown, that is for your lenses.RUSSELL S : I would NOT use this to clean the CMOS sensor. This product is for glass and coated lenses. The carbon particles would probably make the sensor dirtier. I would contact Nikon directly for advice on cleaning the sensor.
Shopper : Is this safe to use on the CMOS?THOMAS G : The best way to clean the sensor is to use a small hand held vacuum. and a soft lens brush such as this one This brush helps dislodge debris and make it easier to be vacuumed from the sensor, but I have found brushes alone just push the debris somewhere else on the sensor surface. Canon Service Center and maybe other manufacturers offer an excellent cleaning service that is less expensive than most camera repair shops ($35 versus $100).HAROLD D : I've been using it on my D300 since I got it and that was when it was originally released years ago. No problems.BAHA A : Sorry never used it on my CMOS

A nice kit to carry around with your photographic equipment.

A very nice kit including an anti-fog cloth (instruction is included), a porch which could be put on your belt, a micro fiber cloth (though it was not said and I have not tried yet, but I think it could be used as a grey standard for presetting the white balance for your particular scene) and two pens which have two sides (brush and tip). The porch (5.5x3.0x1.5 inch)could be used as a small camera porch if you want to put pens and cloth somewhere else. The front and back sides of the porch have protection material.

Good Product

Was somewhat skeptical, but figured Nikon would not put their name on it if it wasn't any good. The lens pen does a really nice job. Only gave 4 stars, because if lens is really dirty, you will have to clean first with paper and lens cleaner fluid. Also, instructions say that if you use the defogger cloth, clean the lens first with a soft cloth before using the lens pen, or you will damage the lens pen. Always read instructions. Bottom line-did great job cleaning my lenses.

Excellent tool to clean tricky smudges

Recently after an extensive photo shoot I discovered some pesky and persistent smudges on two of my Hoya Super HMC filters. I tried everything to remove those smudges (Hoya's are infamous for being difficult to clean). I tried a microfiber cloth, an optical cleaning solution, soaking in the optical cleaning solution, a mild dishwashing liquid - none of which worked. In the end I purchased the Lens Pen and managed to successfully remove all the smudges. Something to keep in mind though, one has to be patient and gentle when using the Lens Pen but the end result is impressive.

Nice cleaning kit

Nice kit. Thought I wouldn't use the little brush much, but I do, for the smaller inside glass of my lenses. Fog free cloth is great. the micro cleaning cloth is very generously sized and feels like it will last forever.

Great kit

The pens works great, kit comes with one large and one small. Brush on one end gets dust and particles off, other end wipes smudges clean. What can be said about lens and fog cloths, they come with the kit. Only con I've encountered is the pen cap comes off easily when removed from being clipped in. The case is fine although I've elected to not use it.jh
