First of all, I could not find a price better than I got from Adorama. The entire transaction was flawless. the LR550 is a great rangefinder. If you are confused as to which rangefinder to find, I suggest trying this one. It picks up the target easily than expected with accurate yardage or meters. It is better than I thought it would be.

This is the only rangefinder I have tried, so I can't compare it to other ones, but it works great. Distance wise, I'm not a good enough golfer to know if it's perfect, but it seems accurate. It is a little hard to hold steady for reading a pin from a long distance, but it zooms in really well. I'm glad I bought it, and Adorama was the best price around by far. Very fast shipping and everything was brand new, in original packaging. I've read complaints about the eyepiece being cheap and breaks easily, but I would disagree. Treat it nicely and all is well. I keep mine in the original box (very compact and easy to store). If you drop it or cram it in your golf bag, I'm sure it will break.

Accurate and quick to locate pin distance

When playing unknown golf courses, this allows me to determine distances for "end of fairway, dog-leg trees, etc"...really enjoy this device.

Used this for the first time when I went golfing March 4th. it met all expectations. I mostly used from 50 - 190 yds out from the pin. I had a hoodie on because it was chilly out. The rangefinder fit in the pocket of the hoodie well that I didn't feel it there when swinging the club. It is super lightweight. The zoom is great(5X). No problems finding the flag. The only trouble I had was when there was a mound or tree in the way of the flag, the unit would pick up the hill or tree. You need a clear sight and at least 18" of flag visible to you. But overall, i just absolutely loved having this advantage to correct distances. It made it a whole lot easier to select the right club. I bought the Callaway/Nikon in lieu of Busnell because of several comments on the internet about Bushnell's quality decreasing in the last few years. Also, Callaway doesn't put their name behind junk. I bought this from Adorama for [$], 70$ less than my local [@].

I deliberated long and hard reading numerous reviews about different manufacturers and products before deciding on the 550. These devices are all on the high ticket side of average so if you're not intending to use more than once or twice a month ... forget about it.[...]None of the devices (I checked out a couple in stores) are what I would call 'tanks' however I'd anticipate the design is purposely lightweight and therefore has a somewhat delicate feel. I haven't had any problems with a lost battery cover that some others have reported - the cover is tight - however if there is any discomfort, just tape it. The yellow color of the body and cover are bright and certainly attractive to a thief so I'd suggest keeping it close at hand.The rangefinder works exactly as advertised and for me, that's accurate and quick distance reading on the golf course to the pin or other targets. If you're not steady of hand, it may be difficult to hold the target on the flagstick however I just brace against the golf cart in windy conditions.My one complaint is with the diopter adjustment - it is accurate - however the piece itself is flimsy to me and at first trying to rotate the eyepiece was frustrating. Once I figured out the pressure needed, I've been good (of course, once set to my eye, it doesn't need tweaking).
