John S : Where can I purchase a battery cover for lr550 range finder ?ANDREW R : For tech support, troubleshooting, or repairs/spares I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer.
Shopper : How to open the battery compartment?DENNIS L : Sorry bought it as a gift.TONI S : On the underside is a black wheel which is the battery cover. Just turn it. I've forgotten what kind of batteries, but I bought some at Best Buy.JOHN M : On the bottom of the laser finder where you look into the eyecup there is a button below it. You have to slightly twist it because on the inside of the button there are grooves that have to be lined up exactly to open and close it. I also had problems opening and closing it so I put a mark on the unit and the button where I had to place the button on to align it and turn very slightly to lock it. So to open it up slowly turn it to find the grooves that align the inside groove and the groove on the bottom of the button.MICHAEL S : There is a small round black cap.. use your fingernails to turn cap counter-clockwise.MICHAEL S : There is a small round black cap.. use your fingernails to turn cap counter-clockwise.
Shopper : What is the difference between the LR 550 and the XHot range finders? thanks, BruceNIELS ERIK N : I think it's just different branding. No real difference in functions and usage. Although, for what it's worth...my 2 LR550s have had no issues, but my 1 XHot needed to be sent back to Nikon for repair after it would no longer measure anything further than about 60 yards.
