CAROLYN B : Will this fit on the vivitar extension tubes that I am thinking about purchasing for my Nikon d-90?MAURICE G : Yes, your Nikon D-90 camera uses Nikon F Mount lenses, the LF-4 rear lens cap fits on a lens or extension tubes, but you may need to cover the other end of these tubes, if you do not a Nikon BF-1B, also purchase one of these at Adorama.GUY E : If the Vivitar extension tubes have a Nikon mount then the rear cap will work. The Nikon rear lens cap has not changed in over 40 years (except cosmetically)ALLEN B : Not sure. It fits all my Nikon lenses so I would assume that if you are a nikon compatible lens or in your case extension tubes that it would fit fine.Ron S : I don't know how it could NOT fit. If the flange is made to fit on a Nikon F mount, the cap will fit. If it is too tight, be gentle with it. Don't squeeze it to hard.JAMES R : Hold the lens firmly and turn in the direction of the arrow (clockwise) until it stops, then lift. To replace, place cap on lens by slightly rotating back and forth until it seats flat then rotate counter-clockwise until it stops firm.GEORGE A : Twist it.CHRIS B : Unscrew it. It has "backward" threads so - in this case - it is righty loosy, lefty tighty. See the little "OPEN" Arrow? It seems to be made of a different plastic than the orioginal but still functions the same.MARK C : For me, these new caps provide greater coverage (protection) for the lens mount, and I also find them easier to grip.MIKE D : Much better fit on factory nikon and off brand lenses and accessories. It's slightly cheaper too.ANTHONY T : Both rear lens caps essentially work the same. I actually prefer the LF-4 over the LF-1. The LF-4 has larger ribs on the side, I would assume for a better gripping surface when twisting it on or off. You can't go wrong either way.MICHAEL D F : LF-1 matches lenses with a shiny finish; LF-4 matches lenses with a dull finishSTEVEN B : The newer LF-4 has a wider base that covers more of the lens mount when attached to seal out dust, etc. It also has wider ridges on the side for better grip when removing from a lens.GREGORY P : I have several of each and both will work just fine. They have the same threads so they are interchangeable. The LF-4, however, has a slightly larger base so it cover more of the lens mount for greater protection. Real rear cap.

My kit lens came with a white plastic cap that just sticks on. I wanted the real end cap that twists to attach so it is much less likely to fall off and this was it. I only will need one because the lens is either mounted to the camera or stored with this cap. Simple really.

Always arry a spare

When shooting in the field I always carry a spare Nikon LF-4 Rear Lens Cap. For weddings a dropped cap may role under the Wedding Party's Table, in the outdoors it could role down a hill and the stories go on and on. Carry a spare cap and eliminate embarrassing moments and the chance to have a expensive lens repair invoice wait for your to pay.
