Questions & Answers

CHARLES D : Will this work on the Nikon D 850?JAE THOMAS S : This was made for use with the F6 only.DANIEL B : I use mine on a Nikon F6 which it is designed for. I don’t have a D850 so I can’t try it. I recommend checking the Nikon website for compatibility. If the website doesn’t answer your question, contact Nikon via the site and you should get a response fairly quick.
Shopper : Is it compatible with D7100??WILLIAM L : After going to Nikon's USA website and looking around, I am 99.9% certain that this F6 Focusing Screen will only work in the F6 Body. I am also 99.9% certain that the D7100 does not accept any other focusing screens.LARRY G : No, the D7100 has a much smaller focus screen. The D7100 doesn't officially support changing the focus screen. But there are aftermarket ones available if you search.
Shopper : is this screen compatible with the D300?WILLIAM L : I do not think that it is compatible. Neither the D300 brochure or the owners manual make any mention of optional focusing screens of any type being available. While it physically might fit the D300, (though I am not sure), the F6 type A screen doesn't have the 51 focusing points that the standard D300 screen has. I would not try combination.RACHAEL K : No, it is not. Nikon does not offer replacement screens for the D300.

F6 Grid Screen

One of the things I missed about the F6 compared to the digital cameras is the ability to have a composition grid in the viewfinder. This solves that problem by giving you the rule of thirds grid in the view finder while maintaining all of the features of the stock screen. Installation was easy with the included tool and the case makes a handy spot to store the standard screen.

E screen important no matter the Nikon model

I use the E screen in F, F2 F3, and of course the digital bodies. I do Architectural work with PC lenses but the E is valuable on so many applications. If I want to keep things straight out on the street, the E screen is a good way to fro so. Its a screen every photographer should have in their bag.

For Precise Image Composition

I feel like something is missing if I don't have a grid to use as a compositional aid. The installation was delicate but straightforward on a d2hs.
