I have a purchased a couple of these units. The cords hold up pretty well even when getting pinched by the bracket many times. I also feel that you get a more accurate reading from the sensor in the SC-29 than when it come out of the flash.

This does what it is supposed to without any issues. I like that it is coiled (which stretches) as it doesn't get tangled up in things and makes it easy to hand hold your hot shoe flash in various directions. Easy to use with or without a tripod.

For the best and most creative flash photography, you need to take the flash off of the hot shoe. This is a great way to do that.

My cord is frayed at the strobe junction. The cord cracked and there are bare wires showing. I will attempt to encase the frayed cord with silicone gel tapering it when I apply it, and then surround that with tape to stiffen the joint. That junction is where most of the movement is applied during shooting with the strobe off the camera.

In order to use the full capabilities of 910 flashes in off camera mode, the chord is required. I like TTL for some work and I use it with the Stroboframe Camera flip bracket. I have also used it with umbrellas, shoot thru and bounce. It also avoids having to set the remote flashes where the on camera flash can trigger them. The on camera flash put out a disturbing IR component even in commander mode with flash set to off. I can not see it under normal conditions, but when I use auto white balance on a grey card, the picture goes green/cyan. I have the commercial printers turn off image intelligence. All kinds of issues now resolved.

works as it should with my 7100. light weight. I would give it a 5 were it not for the lack of a cold shoe on the off camera section and the extra-extra long cord.

Right now, this is basically your only option if you want to shoot bracketed with your Nikon Camera and Flash, and maintain full functionality. The problem is, that 9' cord is heavy and bulky when working with a bracketed flash. If Nikon would modify the design of this unit to make it modular, and allow the swapping out of cords (shorter/lighter for bracketed shooting, and longer for other shooting scenarios), it would be a nearly perfect product.

The CS-29 was my first purchase of used camera equipment via the internet and it was a pleasant surprise for the skeptic that I am. I only bought this CS-29 because a new one wasn't available and I knew I would return it if not satisfied. Testing all CLS and AF assist light functions determined that the sync cord works properly. The cord still has a tight coil and the connections are solid. It was in excellent condition as advertised save for some very minor dust in some crevices and tiny scratches on the red AF assist window. I will take the money that I saved on this purchase and apply it to the next item on my endless wish list, a flash bracket.

I love this cable. I finally got away from the awful red eye effect from my "on camera flash". The hot spots on people's faces are gone forever!! I have the freedom to bounce the light from almost anywhere (walls, ceilings, and objects).

There is no Male Hot shoe connection for the remote end to connect to my stroboframe. I had to take the hot shoe adapter off of the stroboframe. This fact should be in the details and photos. Also not have a PC socket is a bummer. Its not the first time Nikon has forgotten important parts for a camera.

When you have to be mobile and can't get the flash off camera on a light stand, use it with a camera bracket to get the flash off camera without having to hold the flash in one hand. It also helps to eliminate red eye when used with a bracket.
