These filters allows you to create lighting effects that are precise. The coded tabs on the filter allows the flash & camera to automatically identify the color of the gel and makes correct changes in camera. This allows you to be creative quickly in any environment indoors or outdoors. If, you are using multiples flashes off camera you can still quickly adjust your white balance and get the correct color from each different color gel. Excellent investment. Terry S.

Yep, this is a set of color filters for the Nikon SB-900 flash alright (& 910 I presume) -- they fit the flash holder just fine and the flash recognizes them. Not much more needs to be said. There are two of each -- insurance in case one gets faded or damaged from use I suppose -- I was glad to discover that.

Gels are gels. Creative colors are creative colors. Buy them if you love messing with lights a lot.

These are nice little filters that work well for both the SB-910 and SB-900 flash. I do however have a hard time getting them aligned correctly in the holder. There also was another problem I had where I actually melted one due to rapid succession flash shooting, but overall if you give it some time to cool off they hold out well.

I got the filters to balance the color of fill flash with sunsets. I'm very satisfied with them and with Adorama as always.

I like the kit well enough. But note that the Sz-2 Filter Holder is not included and must be ordered separatley.

They work and take up almost no room. I applaud Nikon on the chips used here and the capability they provides photographers. They should also make a wonderful profit on these.

Great addition to the set that came with the SB-900. Three each of each color. These are Gels. Very delicate so be careful handling them. They fit right into the plastic mount that came with the SB-900 but make sure you face them forward because it make a difference to the SB-900. I can store them in right next to the original set in the black case.

Most Nikon SB-900 owners don't understand that it uses "Smart Filter" technology. I use this set of filters at weddings all the time for various backlighting and side lighting effects. The ones that come with the 900 are good, but are more for color correction. These rock.

Obviously they are for the Sb-900 flash. They are easy to use and take up very little space. output I find is consistant.

Color correcting filters are necessary to match the color of the fill flash light to the ambient light when shooting. SB900 already comes with color correcting gels, and these are also included in this kit. There are also color gels included that allow different colors of flash for special effects. Only negatives are that these are a bit flimsy to use with the gel holder on the SB900 (but no worse than the gels that come with it), and the gels seem to get "distorted" by the heat the flash generates (warp and wrinkle, making them a bit of a challenge to fit in the gel holder). It is a reasonably priced set and comes with three of every filter. I reccomend for anyone who likes to get creative with their SB900 flash.

Great little kit, some may not get used much but these are very easy to use with the SB-900, and are auto-detected on the newer Nikon bodies. Worth the cost over cutting sheets of gels...jury is still out on that. Definitely a cleaner solution, no velcro, etc...these would be a no-brainer if the cost was lower.
