This is an economical tripod that is light weight but since its from Nikon it is quite stable.Has a leveling bubble, crank for raising and several tightening knobs for keeping everything in place. Not that I use a tripod extensively but it comes in handy and not for much money.

Not really for professional work. If you take care of it as your child it can last you 2 years without breaking appart.

I have this unit as a beginner but as a tripod even for beginners it is not sturdy. It needs to be more like the field scope structure to pass my test. The parts are mainly plastic. The good is it is made of aluminum and it does very well move well.

Heavy users might find it a little "light" but for occasional use it is terrific. Non-reflective black in color, built-in bubble level, quick flip-lever switches for leg extension rather than twist, braced legs, all the adjustments in position one might need. Just what I need for all around DSLR photography, but bought it primarily for time lapse. Given the quality for the price and noting that it is for the casual user I give it five stars. Would have to go meaningfully more $$$ to get something better.

Well constructed. Well worth the money. Knock-offs don't compare.

I'm not a tripod expert but I needed a tripod to support new Nikon 7000 on landscape shoots. Don't be fooled by the low price. I felt I could trust Nikon name so I took a chance on this reasonably price model. I was not disappointed. Tripod provides great support, it's steady as a rock and light to transport. Easy adjustments on legs to match topography and folds up into a neat package. Only thing it needs to make it better is a level but those are cheap to add. Can't think of how they could have made this tripod better and still keep the same low price.

Very good tripod for the use, took my d600 and 70-300mm lens without any stability issues. The built in level did its job like it should and thats very important to have.

My g/f and I used this to go hiking with and I would not recommend it for strenuous use such as camping or hiking. Did work great on the beach though! I would recommend for the price and decent quality.

It's a good tripod that is okay for beginners or hobbiests. Not a fluid head, but it is otherwise constructed well and performs as it should.

Love this tripod. Wish it came with a carry case, however.

This is your basic tripod and does what it is intended for, light cameras and scopes. It is a good starter tripod. I own a highend Bogen (for heavy cameras and big len's) but wanted something light, small and inexpensive for a light weight spotting scope to use for bird watching. I got exactly what I wanted for the price I was willing to pay.

This tripod is great - lightweight, folds down very small, does about everything that I could think of. My only complaint is that I am just getting started in photography and I could have used a simple 1-page "guide" or illustration on how to use the basic functions. Instead I had to look everything up online to get my camera situated how I wanted.

This tripod is everything it claims to be. Stable, not too heavy. I have been glad to own it.

I bought it for use with my binoculars. It is great for looking at the stars at night. But as an added bonus I have a Canon T70 35mm and a Power Shot S2IS that work very with it. I would definitely recommend this product. It supports the weight as stated in the description. The clamps work very nicely.

The Nikon D7100 is an impressive camera. As you get to know it, you may want to add accessories to help you get the kinds of photos you are passionate about. Here are four possible kits for four (or five) different uses.
