I use this NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens on my Z8 for BIF (Bird in Flight) and other wildlife photography. It performs admirably...extremely sharp at all focal legths, especially at f/5.6 - f/8. It's also light enough to even handhold in most situations with a shutter speed of 1/1000 sec minimum. Of course, as with all telephoto lenses, it would perform optimally on a monopod or tripod. Highly recommended!

I really enjoy my new Nikon Z180-600 lens. It is lighter than my 200-500 mm lens I have been using. The new lens combined with my Nikon Z6III works well and I have captured some amazing photos.

I came from a sigma 150-600 sport, this lens is quite a bit sharper and autofocus is quite fast. The internal zoom is a huge plus and when comparing to other zooms it's one of the lightest. Only downfall is no switch to turn off stabilization like others, with that being said it does not have the same problems others do when having it on a tripod. Stabilization on a tripod is great.

Fast shipping from Adorama, thank you. Been using Nikkor 180-600 for couple days and I'm very pleased. I was taking test shots of small birds in flight when they bolted and I spotted why. Even with no direct sunlight due to clouds, lens instantly jumped 200 yrds, locked coyote and pulled some nice detail including his little coyote tongue poking out. All with mostly wrong camera settings for situation.

Definitely a step up from my 200-500 F mount. AF hasn't always been the sharpest with my Z7II. That may also be some "operator error". Overall I think it's well worth the money. My old 200-500 is getting pretty lonely.

I've only had this lens a couple weeks, so not a lot of time to test it out, but my first impressions are good. Compared to my other lenses it is enormous. I was struck, however, that for its size it's relatively light. I've used physically smaller 70-200 lenses and they were equally heavy. I've only tried it handheld so far and have been able to get focused, crisp shots both close up and distant. Considering its size I assumed I'd have to always use a tripod or monopod. I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration or anything else that would lessen the quality of my photos. And compared to other longer focal length lenses I've used it will grab focus and take the shot at much closer distances.

For the past several years I've been using a Sigma 150-600 sport lens and have been happy with it but the weight was always a concern. It's a bit heavy to hold steady for long periods of time. So I decided to give the Nikkor Z 180-600 a try after buying a Z8 earlier this year. The Nikkor is definitely easier to hand hold and is significantly sharper than my version of the Sigma. For those two reasons I'm very happy with the lens and would certainly buy it again based on those two reason. But there are a few things that keep me from giving it a 5 star review. First is the extensive use of plastic, which helps reduce weight, but give is a lower quality feel - especially the lens hood. Second is a minor detail but the Sigma comes with a nice padded soft sided case and the Nikkor comes with a cloth wrap. I usually have my camera bag filled with other lenses and carry the "long lens" by itself. I don't feel comfortable doing this now without a case so I need to rethink my process.

Awesome lens for wildlife / birding pairing with Nikon Z8. Fast focus and very pleasing / clean bokeh. It's clearly a step up above to the Tamron 150mm - 500mm: higher hit rate on AF tracking and the day time photos have better contrast / more punch. It does drain battery faster on Z8 and its internal zoom design take up more space compared to stubby Tamron design.

Phenomenal lens, light weight, easy to carry, maneuver, quick to focus on a Nikon Z7. Works great on a tripod. Very reasonably priced compared to other super zoom lenses.

Love it. A bit heavier than I was expecting and took some adjustments on my part. Lens is sharp and focus is fast, range is fantastic with only modest throw of ring. Definitely a great choice

While not an S lens, the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR comes very close, delivering excellent image quality at long ranges. I admit that I was initially skeptical about a telephoto with this wide range of focal lengths at this price point. I am happy to say that my experience with this lens has greatly exceeded my expectations. Well done, Nikon!

Excellent lens couple with my Z8- the short barrel turn to go from 180-600, I can keep my eye on my subject. AF is fast and accurate. I never use a monopod / tripod, pictures are sharp and clear. The function button on the lens, I use as DX mode as needed.

I have make Adorama my go to Camera dealer and as always, I find what I'm looking for at a great price and shipping in a timely way. The Nikon NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens is an amazing lens and with the 1.4 on my Nikon Z9, my wildlife photos have stepped up a big notch. The speed and clarity of this lens is top of the line.

I have owned some of Nikon's best exotic lenses such as the 400mmf2.8 the 180-400mmf4, and the 500mmf5.6PF which I still own. When I first used the 180-600mm lens I was blown away as to its overall acuity and Bokeh. Though not quite as sharp as the best primes, it is close enough that only the diehard professional would really notice or care. A real testament to the quality of this lens is that it still has good image quality with a 1.4TC attached. I have never had a zoom, other than the 70-200F2.8, perform as well with a TC. This lens also can focus quite close, something that the big primes cannot do. This is a big help when photographing small birds etc. such as hummingbirds. It is hefty, over such lenses as the 500mmf5.6 PF, the 400mmf4.5, and the 100-400mmf4.5/5.6, but these lenses cannot get to 600mm and that is where you need to be for birds. Period. I use it on my Z8, which allows for precise focusing on the eyes of birds and animals, something that is quite important and not so easy with the Z6 and Z7 type cameras. If only it weighed about a pound less! I have included one photo below of a cat taken with the 1.4TC attached to the 180-600mm lens.

Four months into owning this lens, I am still blown away by the image quality. I use this lens primarily for bird photography and it has been a game-changer for my hobby. I use it on my Z6ii; I shoot primarily hand-held and while hiking. At this price point it's a steal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs reach and versatility.

I was lucky enough to be on the list to receive the Nikon Z 180-600mm and let me tell you, it was worth the wait and the purchase. Images with my Z6II are beyond sharp and the color of those images are stunning. All I can say if you have not been lucky enough to purchase one or get on a list to purchase one, please do. For sports, wildlife and air shows, it's all you need.

This is a superb lens, from 180 to wide open. Fantastic shots, focus is spot-on with my Z9. You can see how focus was on the heron (locked on its eye) even while it was behind branches. All of these shots were handheld. Special thanks to Timothy W. at Nikon for his assistance and stellar customer service.

Super value for a big zoom.

Fantastic value. Much better so far than using my 200-500mm F mount zoom. Love the non telescoping fast zooming. Should be much better in foul weather.

The lens features a quiet and accurate autofocus system powered by a stepping motor, ensuring that you can track subjects with precision while minimizing noise that could disturb wildlife or disrupt video recordings.
For those seeking even greater reach, the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR pairs seamlessly with Nikon's Z series teleconverters (sold separately), offering up to 2x magnification for an impressive 1200mm reach or 1.4x for 840mm, without sacrificing image quality.
This lens is the perfect complement to the 70-180mm, together covering an extensive focal length range from 70mm to 600mm with consistent performance. Its IF (Internal Focusing) technology ensures the lens does not change size during focusing, maintaining a compact form factor.
The lens incorporates ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) Glass to minimize chromatic aberrations and produce clearer, sharper images. The electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism ensures precise aperture control during continuous shooting, while the fluorine coat repels dust, water, and grime, making maintenance easier and extending the life of the lens.
Aspherical lens elements are included to reduce aberrations and contribute to a more compact lens design, while the A/M (Auto-Priority Manual Mode) allows for a smooth transition from autofocus to manual focus without unintentional switching.
With the NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR Lens, you're equipped to capture the world with an extraordinary level of detail and clarity, no matter how far your creative vision takes you.
