Have had this lens for awhile now and really like it on my Zfc.  I have the Z8 but enjoy using the Zfc as my casual and travel camera due to its light weight and the versatility of the DX 18-140 lens.  It works well for my low light shots as well.  I have no regrets in getting this lens and it my go to lens 85% of the time.

Great overall lens.

Surprisingly high quality for such a versatile zoom. Perfect for short trips (together with my Z DX 24/1.7). Disappointing to have to buy the hood separately, particularly as few seem to stock them.

Great lens!!!

I had considered buying this lens before going on a 19 day Suez Canal cruise but didn't do it. I wish I had-the two lens kit worked fine, but I sometimes missed shots while changing lenses. Looking back at the pictures from the cruise, I found that I rarely went longer than about 150 mm or wider than 20 mm. When I found the 18-140 mm at an amazingly low refurbished price, I snapped it up and couldn't be happier. It lives on my camera, but I'm keeping the 50-250 mm kit lens for times when I need more reach.

My go to lens with the Z fc. This covers my most needed focal lengths and produces wonderful images. Compact and light. It's the one lens I always have with me.

My workhorse lens

Honestly its a great all around lens for traveling on the go. Its a really good zoom lens and the quality is there. Its light weight which is perfect for traveling. Not only that, It's a high quality lens at a fairly decent price.

Great lens for on the go.

I bought this lens to use with my Z50 infared converted body.  Some lenses have spots which distort the infared image.  This lens does not.  Also the zoom range is excellant.

Especially good for infared

The Nikkor 18-140mm is an all-around excellent lens. The compact size, combined with the 7.8x zoom range makes it ideal for a variety of photography styles. I have both the 16-50mm and 50-250mm lenses for the Z-mount, but wanted 1 lens that that could cover a similar range. Sure, the 50-250mm provides a greater reach on the telephoto end, but it lacks the wider perspective that this lens offers. Plus, the 50-250mm only provides a 5x zoom range, whereas the 18-140mm offers 7.8x; much more versatile! The 18-140mm also appears to produce sharper images than either of the kit lenses.
I have the 24-120mm f/4 F-mount lens for my Nikon full-frame DSLR, and it is my most used lens on that camera. I'm certain that this 18-140mm will become my most used lens for my Nikon mirrorless crop-sensor cameras.

Compact Versatility

I mostly work with people, in particular with a local modeling agency. I use the Z50 for most of my location work and my Z5's in the studio. I had been using the 40mm as my go to lens. But it is limited to being a prime when sometimes you need something wider or longer. I need to keep light and quick handling. When I went to camera store I got to handle both the 18-140 and 50-250. Hands down I chose the 18-140. I have not been disappointed with the lens. It does everything I need for location work. I still bring the 40mm and sometimes the 24mm DX just in case of low light. But honestly, I never pull them out of the camera bag! The 18-140 does it for me!!!

Great overall performer...

It seems like everyone shoots exclusively on iPhones now, and in many situations, that may be all they need. When we travel, I want the lightest, most versatile kit possible, but I still bring a real camera. Lately I bring a Z30, this lens, and the 24 mm Z DX 1.7. This lens is light and sharp with an extremely useful zoom range. Perfect for travel and hiking.

Great travel lens

Lens is sharp at all focal lengths, focuses quickly, provides good bokeh wide open. range is perfect for an  all in one travel lens, Good ergonomics. Should have come with a lens hood, though so just 4 stars instead of 5.

No Lens Hood

This lens works great for wide-angle and far-away photos. It's small and lightweight to carry around on my Nikon Z 50 camera. The main reasons I wanted this lens were so I didn't have to keep switching the kit lenses, the picture quality is great, and the zoom range is good for most of the photography I do. My only complaint is that I wish it came with a lens hood. But overall, I'm very happy with this lens and plan on using it a lot.

This lens is great!

I decided to try this lens for a project that I was doing with a friend.  We are taking pictures of Civil War headstones in our area,,and keeping records on the soldiers.  I'm using myz7 with this lens.  I don't need high resolution for this project, and it works great!!!   I also am using it with a polarizing filter and I am getting some very nice landscape shots.  Overall a verry good lens!!!

wonderful lends, wish it was a little faster at the telelphoto end of the lens.  Great ALL AROUND LENS FOR MY MIRRORLESS DX FORMAT.

Flexible and versatile, lightweight lens. Range is useful for travel and around the home. Took a bit to figure out which f stops worked best with the wide and telephoto angles but once that's done, the shots are consistent and the lens reliable. Good for garden shots too.

Good all around lens

I have the Z50 and the two kit lenses that came with it but wanted a one lens approach for my traveling with less equipment.
Light weight and does everything I can want in a one lens application. Quite happy with my results so far and the lens shows great promise. Decent close up in my garden with Bokeh. Video is also quite good with the built in image stabilization from the lens.

Mostly plastic but excellent lens overall. Smaller than the 50-250 kit lens and covers most of the range of that AND the 18-50 for single lens carry.

Great new lens

I really love the way this lens completes my Z50 my old 18-140 with the FTZ was too big for the small body.  Optically its good, AF is quick and does not pump when shooting video.  I got my lens with the initial shipment last November, I ordered the HB-101 lens hood with it the same time and it still has not shipped.  It's bad enough to have to pay 40 dollars for lens hood that should have been included. But not have it available? Very poor product management Nikon.

Makes the Z50 a great do it all package.

I bought this lens to complement a Z50 with a longer range zoom and I wasn't disappointed.  It's a nice all-around lens for travel with a good zoom range that covers most of the situations you're likely to encounter.  It's very lightweight, and image quality is excellent.  It's not the fastest lens, but the tradeoff would be a lot more weight, and it's the same speed as the 16-50 mm kit lens.

Very nice travel lens

I was using a Nikkor AF-S DX 18-300mm from my old DSLR with the FTZ-Adaptor on my Z50. This was good for capturing all kinds of photos, however the combination made the entire camera heavy and cumbersome. Now with this "Z" lens, my Z50 camera is light enough to enjoy all the advance features of a mirrorless camera. I now don't mind carrying my camera around. My friends say my Z50 pictures are far better than their iPhone pictures.

Compact - Will Travel

Top quality all-around everyday lens.  Bought it for my Zfc.  Still learning, but really enjoying the results.

A lens that should seriously considered.

Great lens.Extremely sharp and it has the focal lengths I need most often. It?s compact and light and pretty much lives on my Z50. I will use the 16-50 and 50-250 as needed but the vast majority of my photography needs are met with the 18-140.

Smaller and lighter than the 50-250 kit lens and almost as wide as the 16-50, the 18-140 serves as a single walk around substitute and works well for most of the shots I take. Have not used it much yet but seems solid and fast and silent auto focus and VR work well. IT has a plastic mount but seems rugged and the shorter lens balances well. Adorama has a competitive price and added some extras(filters, cleaning kit). Shipped quickly and arrived in a couple of days.
