This is a brilliant lens which which works so well with my Z8. The speed and sharpness of focus is perfect to wildlife and sport photography. I also really value the function button on the lens which I have programmed to activate the 3D bird selection without having to take my eye of the viewfinder of bird in focus. As a package the additional contents were all very useful and made the entire purchase feel that it was excellent value for money. I highly recommend this lens and its free bundle for any avid wildlife and sports photographer.

This is a lens I wanted a long time. It handles beautifully and is amazingly light. Resolution and either color or BW pics come across as I love. Great for lugging around the back country or a race course. The use of a 2X or a 1.4X work well and extends my reach over 400mm, like 560 or 800. Compare the costs of a Z600 to a Z800, doing work in bright lighting is sweet. If this is what you can use or really want, this is the one for you.

Recently bought this lens for night photography, and I wasn't disappointed. Great for all sorts of low light photography and gives a wide range of uses. For the price and the quality, definitely worth the purchase.

I was able to purchase the budget man's 2.8 trinity in early May along with the Z7ii. It was my first step into mirrorless coming from the D810. I got to use the new outfit on a hiking trip to Valley Forge and the surrounding areas during Memorial Day Weekend. The 17-28 gave incredible results (along with its brethren 28-75, and 70-180). I did not fully grasps the benefits of mirrorless until I actually tried. The 17-28 gave me the same joy as I had with the 16-35 F4. Sharp and crisp throughout and the 2.8 gave a wonderful bokeh for portraits. I highly recommend this lens. I know others that complain that this is still a Tamron rebranded with Nikon, but the feel and satisfaction was still there when shooting with this Nikon lens.

This lens is the ideal combination. Compact size, light weight, with superb prime lens optical quality. I know what quality optics looks like and this lens delivers. Can work it handheld all day on a Z9. I do a lot of hiking and this lens is very packable. Autofocus is crisp and quick. Good for spotting and following birds. The lens also works well with a 1.4 teleconverter and the images are completely satisfactory at this level. In addition, working with a 47 megapixel sensor I have been able to either crop significantly or switch to DX to get longer reach and still have quality images. I would suggest that if you are looking to frequently work with subjects at 800mm you may want to add another lens (such as the Z 800 f/6.3) to maintain top quality.

Great Nikon Z lens ! Light weight and sharp corner to corner - use with TC1.4 and you have decent 560MM. Used with Z9 andZ8 - Fantastic light combo with Z8. Some have suggested using DX mode - have not tried, but based on cropped images, it is probably reasonable 840mm image.

Products nicely packed and secured. 50mm macro lens is under my radar for while that suit portrait and macro photography. Very nice lens less weight and easy to carry right mix of lens for portrait too and it comes with lens filter and Tripod stand in pretty good deal. Nice addition to my lens collection replacing FX macro lens.

Open the large f/1.4 aperture and transform out-of-focus foreground and background elements into a smooth, painterly blur that accentuates your subject.
Edge-to-edge clarity.
Close down the aperture of the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.4 lens to create immersive images with sharp details across the frame. Depict landscapes, architecture and fine textures with lifelike accuracy.
Create in any light.
The combination of Nikon's large Z mount and an f/1.4 aperture lens unlocks exciting possibilities for low light. Use faster shutter speeds and lower ISO, minimizing noise and motion blur.
Flattering portraits.
The 50mm focal length renders faces naturally, without distorting any features. Frame attractive close-ups and waist-up shots with striking subject separation.

Technology
Aspherical Lens
A lens with a curved, non-spherical surface. Used to reduce aberrations and enable a more compact lens size. Aspherical lenses minimize coma and other types of lens aberrations, even when used at the widest aperture. They are particularly useful in correcting distortion in wide-angle lenses and help contribute to a lighter, more compact design by reducing the number of standard (spherical) elements necessary. Aspherical lens elements correct these distortions by continuously changing the refractive index from the center of the lens.
Electromagnetic Diaphragm Mechanism
An electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism in the lens barrel provides highly accurate electronic diaphragm or aperture blade control when using auto exposure during continuous shooting.
Internal Focusing
A NIKKOR lens in which only the internal lens group shifts during focusing. Thus, IF NIKKORS do not change in size during AF operation, allowing for compact, lightweight lenses capable of closer focusing distances. These lenses will be designated with the abbreviation IF on the lens barrel.
Stepping Motor
NIKKOR Z lenses use a stepping motor for fast, accurate, smooth, quiet autofocus with reduced wobbling. This quiet drive system makes the lenses ideal for use when shooting video.
Multi Focus System
In 1967, Nikon developed the world's first focusing system that effectively suppressed aberrations by moving multiple lens groups (Close-Range Correction System). The multi-focusing system is the evolution of that AF system with which the positions of multiple focusing groups are very precisely controlled, each by its own focusing unit, all of which work together. This system effectively suppresses various types of aberration, even with scenes captured at close distances where aberrations are generally more likely to occur. This enables superior image-formation performance from maximum aperture, regardless of the focal length or shooting distance. It also contributes to faster AF. The multi-focusing system is effective even with fast lenses.
