For the price, this lens has been wonderfully sharp! Great addition to my Z30(+16-50) & Z50ii setup. It does have a plastic-y feel, and it rattles a bit when not in use, but that hasn't affected the image quality. Great lens!

Great lens for the price!

Very nice for what it is. Replaced my Z5 and Z mount full frame lenses to reduce weight when traveling. At half the weight and half the cost it is very versatile and easy to carry for long periods. Picture quality isn't quite up to the Z mount S full frames but still very good.

Very good for what it is

Well, I'm still new to Z50.  For any reason I still like my D3400 with 300 mm lens.  It feel and adjust for focusing seem to be more easy than Z DX 50 - 250 leans.  I enjoy it !  Still more to learn with Z50 set.

For the money, the lens renders sharp, great-color images. It is lightweight, fast to focus, and an all-around excellent zoom lens. Highly recommended.

Best bang for the buck in zooms...

The autofocus on this lens is fast and accurate. The image quality is nice and sharp. Still getting used to the lens. All the images of the animals are taken when they are behind the fence. Good lens

I love this lens. I should have purchased it in a kit with the Z fc body to save money, but I purchased it after. It's sharp, it's fast autofocusing, and very light weight. It's a great addition to my arsenal of lenses.

Great lens

Optically it is a very nice lens. I am disappointed that it has a plastic lens mount. Longer lenses put more strain on the mount and I would feel better with a metal bayonet mount. How much more would it cost to do it right?

Trustworthy lens.

When I first laid eyes on this beauty- my first thoughts were: how in the world can a lens be this cheap and yet so versatile?! Ever since March, when I first purchased my Z50 I thought that I could NEVER find a telephoto that could pair perfectly with APS-C camera like mine. BOYYY was I wrong (in a good way, not only is the perfect match for the Z50, it was extremely lightweight and has amazing image quality! Nikon, you have made the perfect lens that I will forever cherish for my photography

I am very happy with this lens.  It is a great value.  The photos I have taken are very sharp.  The auto-focus works well and the lens is very light-weight.  I was using the 70-300 DX lens with an FTZ adapter previously.  This lens takes much better photos.

This is supposed to be a cheap kit lens. There is nothing cheap about the images it is capable of. Love this lens!

The lens appears sharp over the full range of f stops and focal lengths. The lightweight is also an important feature. I have traveled with the lens and never had a problem.  Our back patio faces a nature preserve. Therefore, I also do a lot of bird photos. Attached is a hawk photo that was taken through the patio glass door

An Excellent Lens

Excellent lens for the Z50. I also use the 70-300 AFS FX lens on my Z50 and the 50-250 is much sharper and lighter.  A must have lens if you own a Z50.

Love this lens, I've had the Z50 with both kit lenses and they have performed better than I thought. Images are sharp, the color is beautiful Nikon color and could not be happier with this camera and the lenses. Would love to see more lens choices from Nikon for the Z50 but for now they have covered most of what I like to photograph. BTW the Z50 has performed well with the FTZ using my Tamron 150-600 G2 and the focus is fast and images sharp. You wont be dissapointed with the Z50, the 16-50 and 50-250 lenses.

A surprisingly sharp lens plus small and iight weight.

After using the Z7 for a short while, I decided that due to the fantastic resolution, I probably didn't need a telephoto lens at all. But there were a few occasions that an extra reach would be helpful. This lens filled that need beautifully. Excellent results with no diffraction noted. Crisp clear images. This fill s out my tool kit.

A joy to use!

I was very impressed from the first day I received my NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm.  True to what many early reviewers claimed, it was light, sharp and had that great Nikon quality and color.  What was so impressive was the reach that I was getting with 250mm and the sharpness of the lens at that distance. I was amazed at the detail in my street photography and I could see those details in buildings or people off in the distance.  It really took my experiences with the Z50 to a whole new level, and has me dreaming of getting another Z camera in the future.  Again, I find it a great lens for street photography, landscapes, wildlife and family fun. (I've also purchased other Z lenses for my Z50.)

Zero Disappointments With This Z Lens

For a kit lens, the DX 50-250mm is extremely versatile! This lens is a perfect pairing with the Z 50. Though it is a bit slow, but for the price point it is perfect. Not the sharpest lens, and the bokeh can be a little weird at times, but again, very good for the price point. For an everyday walk about and general wildlife lens, it is perfect.

Extremely versatile lens for a kit

Love this lens! I was looking for a small form, light weight lens for my Nikon Z50 that I purchased because it has these same qualities. I find that the NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR with its 5 way vibration reduction technology allows me to to shoot hand held at shutter speeds of 1/25th second and and an ISO of up to 6400. For my purposes where most of my shooting is not in very low light conditions, this lens is such a treat to use and enjoy. It proved itself to me the first time I used it at my local bird sanctuary!

No Regrets!

I took this lens with me to Tuscany over 1 year ago and used it for the whole trip.  It was light and compact while allowing me to zoom in for detail.  I am pleased with the sharpness of the lens.  I do landscape and photos of details such as flowers or sculpted design for the most part.  
It is nice to have a camera and lens that is light to carry and well balanced for shooting handheld.
I can use it on both my Z50 and Z6 camera bodies, too.
