I have a Nikon D7000 that I absolutely love but it is incredibly heavy and bulky. Purchased this used Nikon Z50 which was in great condition. Coupled my purchase with the NiKKOR Z DX 24mm f/1.7 Lens. I am incredibly pleased with the purchase. The camera is compact and easy to transport for my travel photography. The wireless and bluetooth are a big upgrade from my SLR D7000. Love being able to download photos wirelessly to my cell phone. The images with the 24mm lens are incredibly sharp. This is my first fixed lens purchase and I don't regret the purchase. Did purchase the Nikon Mount Adapter FTZ II to have the ability to use my current SLR Nikon lenses with the new camera. Great camera for entry to novice.

I had a Nikon D7500 which I loved. I do not like this Nikon Z50 at all. Pictures are just not the same quality. Very disappointed

I really like this camera and its easy to transition from my dslr to this mirrorless. Its smaller and lighter weight. What I dont like is the sd card is right next to the battery and hard to remove. Thats the reason for the 4 stars.

My first experience with mirrorless cameras after using my D810 with professional lens for years. I mostly interested in taking still pictures, now so much in video. The pictures are sharp in the daylight, lots of detail providing you understand that noticeable grain/noise starts to creep in the pictures around ISO 800, which is easy to get too in a hurry with high starting F stop zoom kit lens. I love the touch screen and the small size and good grip. Glad Nikon kept on on-board flash. I have spent lots of time watching videos to get the most from the Auto ISO function. Now i learned to work with the camera to limit noise. Auto focus is great. I am sticking with Z lens for now. The camera single card slot is not a problem so far as I backup my pictures after every shoot. I agree this is a great travel camera.

I really like this camera. It doesn't seem to take as fine a quality of photos up-close as my Nikon D3200 but that may because this Z50 is a little above my skill level. Lightweight, small, great audio. If I could only figure out the focus better I'd love this camera.

Adorama completed my order for a Nikon Z50 and extra lens and accessories in perfect condition and fast delivery. In the past I've also ordered a MacBook Pro 14" M1 laptop and love it. Don't hesitate to order from Adorama for some of the best discounts.

I owned a Nikon Coolpix P7800 for many years. The image quality was astonishing for a camera with such a small sensor. However, the exposure range was less than 12 EVs and the color depth was about 20 bits. This was fine for most situations but I often wanted to see more in my pictures than the camera could deliver. The Z50 is the perfect replacement for the P7800. It is not much larger than the P7800, it has a much better electronic viewfinder and the image quality is noticeably better. I use the 18-140 mm zoom lens, which covers the same range as the 6-42.5 mm lens on the Coolpix. So far, the difference of 1 and 2/3 stops between the two lenses has not been a problem, thanks to the higher ISOs of the Z50 and the vibration reduction mechanism in the lens. This is a great little camera. And it has many, many features that I have not tried yet.

Someone tell me what took me so long to get here. I have been shooting in excess of 45 years. The last 25 or so have been moving more and more into the digital world. The latest venture has been to mirrorless. Not wanting to take out a mortgage, I decided to go with the Nikon Z50 with the FTZ II adapter. These are pretty much out of the box shots. The lens is the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8g (non-VR) lens. I am loving the results and quickly learning more about the operation of this pocket size mirrorless DSLR. Image # 1 is ISO 1000, 60mm, f/2.8, at 1/125 sec. Image #2 is ISO 320, 70mm, f/4, 1/60 sec Both were shot with available light and color balanced to the room using a Kodak 18% Gray card. My major concern was would the lens work as designed with the FTZ II attached and the second considerations was what the image quality would like like. Got to say, very low noise and with the wide open aperture not really bad. Keep in mind that the 24-70mm f/2.8g is not designed for the APC sensor so, there is a focusing mismatch. I am liking this little guy and I may end up hocking off both of the D700s, and maybe the D610 to jump up to a Z 7 or so. The Z 9 lives in another Zip Code and can't afford the rent in that area of town. Would I recommend? Hell yeah!!!!!!

I bought my Z50 from Nikon as a refurb with both kit lenses. It has been a great buy-a fine picture taker that is super light and easy to use. My previous kit was a D7100 with various lenses and a Panasonic m4/3 with multiple lenses. I loved the portability of the Panny but hated it?s many small, fiddly buttons. I liked the ease of use of the D7100 but found it a little too heavy for casual use. The Z50 has been perfect, providing all the quality I need as an ?advanced amateur? while being almost as light as the Panasonic and as easy to use as the D7100.

The Nikon Z50 is a magnificent camera for a beginner through to fairly serious enthusiast. This particular package came with 16-50MM and a 50-250MM Nikkor lenses. It just seemed to make sense rather than the adapter and use my older Nikkor lenses from an older Nikon D5000. It also came with a carry bag, several filters and lens cleaning kit which was a nice addition to the package. It also included some Corel photo editing and image conversion software which I am yet to explore. The images are simply beautiful and the convenience of wi-fi transfer to one's smartphone is a nice touch. Only two downsides are the battery life in the camera is so-so meaning a few spare batteries are needed for a full day. Also, the bluetooth capability on the camera would not connect to my smartphone at all but as long as wi-fi worked, that is a nit. Being able to capture photos and 4K video on one device with this power is huge. Can't wait to really put it through it's paces on an upcoming cruise.

My Z50 is my first mirror less camera. I wanted a second body to complement my D7200, I have a 18/300 DX lens and the wonderful 200/500 f5.6 telephoto that I am very happy with for my photo interest. I love to photograph birds, landscapes, flowers, night photography lots of interest. I thought very strongly about getting D7500, but after seeing wonderful images being taken with the Nikon mirror less cameras, and knowing this is the technology of the future I chose the Z50. I am very glad I made this choice, I have found the setup easy and Nikon user friendly (having had the D7200 a while and a previous D5100) finding things were easy. The EVF is the most ?different? item to get used to. Everyone is different but for me this was pretty easy for me, after taking the brightness us one step on the EVF I love it outdoors and in. I wanted to stay with a DX sensor due to my wildlife interest for the reach. I got the FTZ II adapter with the camera body only so I can mount one lens on the Z50 and one on the D7200 to be ready for anything while out and about. The Z50 shines with the huge telephoto lens as well as my beloved 18/300 all around lens. The controls are amazingly easy to interact with while shooting and extremely well thought out. Many of the buttons I customized on my D7200 were set up in the way I use that camera (probably just lucky but welcome) by default. Image quality is superb, the camera feels very well made and finished. I will add Z series lenses when possible, however I am so pleased to be able to use my existing lenses for now. I also considered a D500, however I like to engage in the ?newer tech? when I see an industry going a certain way. I sincerely hope Nikon continues development of the DX line and the rumored Z60 or Z70 is in our future. I am still learning the capabilities and very much enjoying the results. I believe Z50?s capabilities will be enjoyed a long while, thanks for a great camera!

Great camera. Firmware 2.2 was a good upgrade but the autofocus tracking still needs improvement especially with Nikon 800mm f/6.3 pf and also fix the focus breathing problems with this lens. Nikon PLEASE... PLEASE add a spring to the battery doors of ALL cameras. Also the lever that we need to push to open the battery door, add a small notch to that lever for the finger nail to hook onto. If you do not know how to implement spring on a battery doors, look at any Sony camera. The moment the battery door level is pressed, the spring helps in popping the door open. This is a very simple thing and it's very irritating trying to open battery doors on ALL Nikon cameras.

Everything came as described on line and as ordered. We?re extremely satisfied with new Z50 Nikon camera, lenses and all additional equipment we got from Adorama. We got a personal photography concierge for 90 days free with this purchase. I had several questions about the camera and software. All my questions were answered quickly and professionally. I would highly recommend Adorama to everyone!

Adorama offered the Nikon Z50 with the FTZ adapter for my old Nikon lenses and with a 16-50mm and 50-250mm lens for a price that beat all the competition. It came with two sets of filters, one for each lens. I didn't really need the other stuff, but it came with a very practical camera bag and a high speed SD card. The camera was delivered in a couple of days after ordering. I had been using a Nikon D7500, and Z50 is basically a mirrorless twin of the D7500. But it has some extra features that are pure fun to use. Of course, it is much lighter than the D7500, so that is great for travel. I used the FTZ adapter to take bird photos with my 600mm lens. Spectacular results. I cannot believe this camera sells for this price.

So I have a Z7ii and a Z50. I do love both cameras .TheZ50 is FUN camera to use! Here is my Z50 three star issues. One... the current lenses, and projected lenses are just WAY to slow. None seem to be in the future line up! A bit disappointed even at this price. Next ? NO IBIS? Really Nikon? What were you thinking at this price.... Go back to Design. Call it Z60... 1st take the 24mp crop sensor from the D5600, (killer sensor) Then put stabilization in the body, and make a line of faster Z crop lenses....I would buy 2 towmorrow!

Great walking around camera for when I don't want to carry my heavey D750. The Z 50 has most features of my D750 but much lighter and the Mirrorless is pretty cool!

I've had my Z50 for over a year and almost 30,000 shots. I've had no issues with the hardware. Image quality is incredible. The autofocus is more than good enough for most situations. For portraits, landscapes or kids playing it will be near perfect. For sports and faster moving subjects the autofocus and subject tracking along with 11fps (make sure to have a fast enough card) nail focus about 85-90% of the time. The Z50 with the kit lens, 28mm f2.8 or 40mm f2 fit comfortably in a jacket pocket. I've used the 85mm 1.8s, 50mm 1.8s, 50mm macro and 70-200mm 2.8S and the results are stellar. No one would consider the results "entry level" If the Z50 had IBIS and dual card slots I would use this my main (photo) camera.

It?s going to be a while before I find out all the things this camera can do. Obviously much more than I?ll need. One of the main reasons I got it was for the Bluetooth capability to my phone. The two lenses are all I need for lenses.

I've been using the Z-50 for a few weeks now, and as I get comfortable with it, I am liking it more. The Z-50 is incredibly lightweight compared to my old D600. The digital image preview takes a little while to get used to, but the sharpness of the pictures its takes are great. And the ability to use most of my older lens with the Nikon adapter that is available is a bonus so you aren't left with a lot of glass that is not usable.

Simply put.....It is a great camera!
By TampaBayFitz
I bought the Z50 with the 16-50mm and 50-250mm lenses. I wanted to break into the next level of Nikon cameras. I have found this camera performs well beyond my expectations at this price point.Fast focus, good carry around size and excellent quality pictures. This lens package is stable and covers 95% of my needs. Thanks Nikon...You got this camera right.

The new Nikon Z 50 is a truly amazing camera. It's size, and the size of the two new Nikon Z DX lenses, are extremely small and light weight. But in spite of this DX system's economy of size, it yields photographic results that are as good as the larger and heavier Nikon mirrorless cameras. Not only does this new camera possess full functionality, it also has a built in flash that works perfectly. Images straight out of the camera are excellent due to the new architecture of the Nikon Z syste...

Z 50's sophisticated facial recognition algorithm precisely locks focus onto your subjects eye to ensure tack-sharp results, even when your subject is in motion.
Native ISO 100-51,200
Z 50 shines in low light. Shoot stills up to ISO 51,200 with virtually no noise-great for low-light indoor shots or outdoors after dark. Record 4K UHD videos at up to ISO 25,600.
EXPEED 6 Image Processing
Like Z 7 and Z 6, Z 50 is powered by Nikon's fast, comprehensive EXPEED 6 image processing system. It's the power behind the camera's stunning photo and video quality, low-light performance, distortion control and more.
Compact, Lightweight, Portable and Ergonomic
Lightweight, durable and sleek, the Z 50 stays true to the Z series design concept of putting the image creator first. Weighing just 14 ounces, the camera body is easy to carry and will feel like an extension of the user. Authentic controls and dials, state-of-the-art touch LCD technology and an ergonomically shaped grip are just some of the features that define the image creation experience. Minute details have even been fine-tuned to improve comfort, operation and style, including the sensation of the pressurized button clicks, the feel of the rugged metallic structure, the finesse of the body design and the ability to take photos in complete silence, so you can enjoy capturing moments without fear of interrupting them.
Revolutionary Z mount
The Z 50 isn't just another compact mirrorless camera: it delivers superb image quality. That's because it uses the same Z mount as its larger siblings, the Nikon Z 7 and Z 6 cameras. This lens mount features a 55mm opening, wider than any competing camera in its class, which invites in a huge amount of light. The short, 16mm distance from the mount to the image sensor enables more flexible lens design and a smaller camera body. This combination allows engineers to use light more effectively, and develop lenses with outstanding optical performance, providing even higher resolution and more beautiful bokeh. The Z 50 can be used with the dedicated kit lenses, but is also compatible with a growing lineup of superb NIKKOR Z lenses and utilizing the Mount Adapter FTZ its also compatible with approx. 360 F-mount lenses.
Flip-Under LCD
Point the camera towards yourself, flip the tilting monitor 180 Degree downward to face you, and Z 50 will immediately turn into a selfie camera. The operation buttons and dials lock, so you won't accidentally press the wrong button. Use Touch AF on the LCD to focus and take shots-great for stills, even better for vlogging.
Organic EL Electronic Viewfinder
Put Z 50 to your eye, and the high-resolution organic EL panel automatically turns on and gives you a brilliant, sharp view without any glare. And it's showing you the shot exactly as it will look-with all camera settings and creative effects applied in real time. It also displays the same settings as the camera's LCD monitor, so you can make changes without taking your eye away.
Photo/Movie Selector
When shooting video, you often want to use different camera settings than those you need for stills. Z 50 lets you separately save the most appropriate settings for each shooting mode and then change smoothly between them with the flick of a lever.
Customizable i-menu
New inspiration often strikes when you're in the middle of shooting. Z 50's convenient i button gives you a powerful shortcut to adjust camera settings on the fly. The i menu is fully customizable, letting you choose your 12 most frequently used settings and arrange the order for convenience. You can view the i menu items on the LCD monitor or the electronic viewfinder (EVF). You can quickly change these while confirming the results in real time - all without taking your eyes off your subject.
Pop-up Flash
In scenes where your subject appears dark and flat-when backlit or in dark shadows, for example-Z 50's pop-up flash can be just the right amount of fill light.
4K Ultra HD Video Recording
Not all 4K is equal. With an outstanding DX-format image sensor, EXPEED 6 image processing and the power of the larger Z mount, Z 50 records 4K UHD videos with dazzling cinematic depth and clarity.
11 FPS Full Resolution Stills
Capture 11 frames per second continuously with full quality or up to a blazing fast 30 FPS with 8-megapixel stills in silent video mode.
120 FPS Slow Motion Video
Record 1080p Full HD videos at an ultra-smooth 120 frames per second, making it possible to bend time, speed ramp and more.
4K Ultra HD Time-Lapse
Z 50's time-lapse movie function automatically shoots a series of still images based on your settings and then stitches them together into an astonishing 4K Ultra HD or Full HD video using the entire frame. Gradual changes of light in landscapes, movements of drifting clouds, fast-paced cityscapes-all of these can become jaw-dropping time-lapse sequences.
Multiple Exposure Mode
Easily create unique images that combine multiple shots on top of each other. When capturing multiple exposure shots, you can confirm a semi-transparent view of the overlay image being created on the monitor or the EVF. This makes it easier to frame the next shot, resulting in a finished composition just the way you want.
Special Effects
Get more playful and experimental with your photos and videos. Choose from Night Vision, Super Vivid, Pop, Photo Illustration, Toy Camera Effect, Miniature Camera Effect, Selective Color, Silhouette, High Key and Low Key. With Z 50, you can apply the effects in real time to create your ideal shots.
Silent Shooting
Shoot silently using all 20.9 megapixels in single-frame release mode-ideal for weddings, events, museums, wildlife or any time you don't want to disturb the moment. You can also shoot 8-megapixel images silently at up to approx. 30 fps in movie-recording mode.
Creative Picture Controls
Playing with different looks and colors can add different nuances to your images. You can see these by applying different Creative Picture Controls, confirming the appearance you get in real time via the monitor or EVF. It helps you create your ideal image, and the camera even lets you adjust the level within each Creative Picture Control.
