The Z5ii is amazing and with the 24-200mm makes the perfect travel camera. It is compact and light, but feature packed. I added a 105mm which also performs well with the Z5ii. I'm an enthusiast level photographer, but taking shots comparable to the professionals I hang out with. Love this camera!

On December 2nd, I visited Adorama to trade in my Nikon D7500. I also traded in my 200-500mm f/5.6, 35mm f/1.8, and 85mm f/1.8 all NIKKOR lenses. This marked the beginning of my journey into the world of mirrorless cameras, and I chose the Nikon Z5ii as my first choice. To enhance my bird photography skills, I also purchased the used NIKKOR Z 180-600mm f/5.6-6.3 VR lens. I also bought an extra battery. Both Angel and William were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable throughout the process. They provided valuable insights and assistance with my trade-ins and new purchases. This is a huge upgrade coming from the D7500. Speed and autofocus plus bird detection. I'm looking forward to using this during my trip to the bird festival in Laredo Texas in February.

I really liked my Z5, it was a great way to wonder back into photography after a 40+ year hiatus. The Z5ii is a great upgrade, my main driver for the upgrade was to get better autofocus ability especially with wildlife. The Z5ii delivered solid AF performance as well as much better light performance. The old Z5 was great at landscape, the new Z5ii is great at landscape, wildlife/nature and even astro. I really like the way the dual thumb wheel controls work when selecting either i-menu functions or with the function buttons, this is really convenient and intuitive for me. I find overall the AF is so much better that I take one or two photos of a subject rather than 5 or 6 or 10 because I know the focus is right on the money and more "only get one chance" wildlife photos turn out great! I also find myself snickering a lot when taking pictures of dogs when they are walking away from me with their tail up and eye detection is on.

So far the camera has been amazing. Purchased the 50mm 1.8S and it makes great shots.

I absolutely love this new Z5! I am taking pictures at ISO 64,000 and they are coming out with very light noise - easy to fix in Lightroom! I no longer have any need for f/2.8 or f/4 lenses. f/5.6 is now the new fast lens! And the auto focus settings give you several different areas for the continuous autofocus to work in. And there are settings where the autofocus will find birds in flight and people's faces. This camera is light years ahead of the original Z5. My new favorite lens is the Nikon Z 28-400mm f/4-8. With this camera and lens I can go just about anywhere and shoot just about anything.

The full-frame difference.
Superior image quality and greater versatility.
The Z5II's full-frame BSI-CMOS sensor is 50% larger than competitive APS-C models. That means it collects more light, so you can enjoy cleaner, more detailed images in all conditions. Plus, there's no crop factor with full-frame/FX format Nikkor Z lenses, so wide-angles stay genuinely wide.

Effortless subject detection.
People, dogs, cats, birds and vehicles-the Z5II can automatically detect and accurately track nine distinct subjects. Plus dedicated [Bird] and [Airplane] modes for even greater autofocus accuracy.
Incredible precision.
High-speed autofocus acquisition combines with amazing accuracy for sharp focus in all conditions, even when your subjects are tiny in the frame.
3D-tracking with subject detection.
Position the AF point over your subject, and the Z5II will automatically track to keep it in focus.
Smart focus.
In AF-A mode, the Z5II automatically detects subject movement and switches to tracking autofocus when necessary.
Performance that's a step ahead.
Keep up with the fastest action-even before it happens.
Uncompromising speed.
Maximum frame rate of 14 frames per second in mechanical shutter mode and up to 30 frames per second (electronic shutter) with full autofocus.
Pre-Release Capture.
Sometimes you only recognize the decisive moment after it has passed. Capture the action before you fully press the shutter release button-at up to 30 fps-saving shots that would otherwise have been missed.
New opportunities in low light.
Your creativity doesn't stop when the sun goes down, and neither does the Z5II. Keep on shooting even in almost complete darkness, with stunning high ISO image quality and a suite of features designed to unlock new creative possibilities in low light.
Focus confidently in low light.
Class-leading autofocus detection down to -10EV1 delivers accurate, reliable focus in dim and dark conditions-great for live performances, available light portraiture, astrophotography and more.
See in the dark.
Starlight View mode gives a clear view even in virtually complete darkness, helping you find the perfect composition for astrophotography.
Shake-free shooting.
Shake-free shooting. Leave your tripod at home thanks to built-in 5-axis Vibration Reduction, delivering up to 7.5 stops of image stabilization. Focus Point VR prioritizes stabilization on the active focus point.
Expanded ISO range.
With a standard ISO sensitivity range of 100-64,000 expandable to Hi 1.7 (ISO 204,800 equivalent), the Z5II can continue to capture detailed images even in ultra-low light.
Extended shutter speeds.
Enjoy shutter speeds as long as 900 seconds (15 minutes) in manual exposure mode. Perfect for extreme long-exposure nightscapes and star trails.
Warm Display Colors.
When shooting at night, the brightness of the LCD and EVF can be distracting, even turned all the way down. In Warm Display Colors mode the information display is switched from white to red to preserve your night vision.
Intuitive, immersive handling.
Class-leading viewfinder experience.
Get a brighter, more accurate view with an electronic viewfinder you'll love to look through-whether you're at the beach, in the snow or out on the water.
