My First Macro

I'm really enjoying the 105 as macro lens and also for portraits. It is sharp and lightweight. This is my first macro lens, so I don't have a basis of comparison - but very fun!

Great Camera but battery life could be better

Great transition to a mirrorless body from my Nikon D80. The only downside is that the battery life is not that great.

Rekindle love for photography

This camera has reignited my passion for photography and helped push my creative thinking. The feel of it makes it a joy to use, the way you can customize the buttons allow you to hone your process so you spend more time taking photos then playing with settings.

Great camera

Being a bit of a retro-grouch at times, I didn't expect I'd like this camera as much as I would??.but I realllllllly like this camera. In the past, for Nikon I've owned an N8008s, D40, D80, D3, D3s, D800E, and D810 (still currently own the D810)?.overall my favorite was the D3s, but I think the Z8 may have dethroned it. I like the rear button layout and being able to access the menu, zoom in/out and "ok" buttons with my right thumb. It's the little things like that which makes shooting faster and easier. I do miss the larger, green backlit LCD on top of the DSLR's though. The amount of technology they've packed into the Z8 is quite impressive. Ergonomically, comparing my D810 to the Z8 (comparing to a full-size body like the D3s wouldn't be fair), I like the feel of the D810 in hand better, the Z8 feels a bit blocky?..but I added a SmallRig L-Bracket to the Z8 and it's improved the feel. Not sure why SmallRig discontinued that. I like having an electronic shutter vs. a mechanical shutter (less to wear out), as well as having the sensor shield down when the camera is off/changing lenses. The Z8 renders noise quite well at higher ISO's with black and white conversions?..almost reminds me of shooting Tri-X (grainier) and T-Max (less grainier) from way back. The EVF on the Z8 is quite good, and having the ability to zoom in while using the EVF to manually focus (think macro or anything that requires critical focus) is awesome. I also love finally having a camera with IBIS. Image quality is good but doesn't really look any different than my D810. I'm not sure why Nikon took a step backward with the flash sync speed only being 1/200th now on the Z8 - wasn't impressed with that. I did have a bit of a weird issue with flash triggering during a family portrait shoot yesterday - for some reason, my studio strobe wouldn't fire when set to 1/200th in the flash menu, but when I switched it to 1/200th in high speed sync (this isn't a HSS flash unit), then it triggered normally. Could've been a glitch with either the flash trigger in the hotshoe or the camera, not sure which. I'll have to test to see if I can re-create the problem, but didn't run into that before. Bottom line, if you want a new camera with all the bells and whistles and Z-series glass, the Z8 is great. If you don't need or want all the bells and whistles and are happy with the performance and quality of your D810, D6 or D850 and your G series lenses, then stick with what you have

Nikon z6 iii

Upgrade from a Z5 to the Z6iii and it was worth it. Great camara for the value. Accurate and fast. Not a fan of the flip screen but you get use to it.

My everyday go to lens.

I love this lens. The focal length range, as well as aperture, for sub $1200, make this such a versatile option. If I can only take one lens when on the road, it is this one. Best bang for the buck and produces some amazing shots.

Much better than Z6ii!

I really like the speed of the auto focus for my bird photography and facial recognition on people even a long distance away! I like the higher megapixels so that I can crop or pixel peak even up to 400%! Feels great in the hand, even tho a little heavier than my z6's. I should've just bought the Z8 instead of the Z6's esp. since I do a lot of bird photography.

Extreme Close-up

The use case that prompted this purchase was the desire for the depth of field from a short focal length for close-ups of flowers when a tripod was inappropriate. I was pleased, but look at the photos and you be the judge. My only quibble is no digital readout of focal length, no problem that into is included in the photo's meta-data. Only drawback, now I want a full frame zoom of similar focal length for my Nikon Zf. Included photos were shot at 12 mm and f/4 at or near minimum focus distance.

Just buy the camera. Not this bundle.

Camera is amazing but this bundle is inconvenient. Black battery does not work. Doesn't charge in the camera by hooking it up like it says in the manual. It did not come with an external charger. The camera bag is tiny. Cannot fit camera and lens in it together.

Excellent Combination

Nikon colors, swift and reliable autofocus, and a pleasing retro aesthetic combined with an excellent S series lens makes a compelling package. Added a SmallRig grip for easier one-handed carrying, though not at all needed if carrying with a neck strap. Battery life and image stabilization are also first-rate.

charge batteries at 80% may be a good idea.

After market Battery works find. 5 charges so far. So I save my Nikon ones at 80%. I have some little used 20 year old Nikon batteries which I keep in the cameras still rated as new. Using the flash as a slave with my 40 year old sensors although there is no swivel . Better idea is it lets the model know I am shooting with out effecting the photo due to the long distance. A pre flash is get ready with out any waving to bother others.

FEATURED REVIEWS

Feature-rich camera with minor caveats.

By Betty O.

You'd do well to read some of the many professional reviews out there, but this lives up to the hype so far. 240 fps in full HD is everything I wanted, and it has many other advanced features to help me get the shot. I wish the sensor had a few more megapixels so the DX crop could be a bit more than 10 MP; if you're moving up from a DX camera, make sure you have some FX lenses to use or be ready to drop some cash on new lenses. The eye sensor is a little flaky sometimes, being a bit too sensi...

Best ever!

By ROBERT L.

Sharper, smaller, and lighter than the original f-mount version, which was already considered by everyone outside of Canon fanboys as the best slr lens ever made. You do the math!

Under the hood of the Nikon Z6III Mirrorless Camera lies a powerhouse of innovation and performance, making it a standout choice for photographers and videographers alike. This advanced camera bundle includes a SILVER Series 128GB UHS-II SDXC Memory Card, an EN-EL15c Lithium-Ion Battery, an Alpine 120 Shoulder Bag, and a Cleaning Cloth, ensuring you're equipped for any shooting scenario.

Experience incredible autofocus precision and blistering speed with the world's first partially-stacked CMOS sensor, which integrates high-speed data processing circuits for approximately 3.5 times faster readout speeds compared to its predecessor, the Z6II. The high-performance electronic shutter and high-speed sensor enable super-fast continuous shooting and ultra-high shutter speeds, all while maintaining an exceptional viewfinder experience. Capture every moment with a maximum of 120 fps JPEG in High-speed C30/C60/C120 modes, and enjoy the benefits of Pre-Release Capture for those decisive moments. With a maximum buffer of over 1000 shots and a 1/16,000 sec shutter speed, you can freeze even the fastest action with ease.

The Nikon Z6III offers immersive live view capabilities with a smooth, detailed display and a maximum 120 fps refresh rate. Its built-in 5-axis image stabilization delivers up to 8 stops of Vibration Reduction, while Focus Point VR ensures stabilization on the active focus point, providing rock-steady image quality. This mirrorless camera excels in low-light conditions, thanks to the EXPEED 7 processor, which enhances image quality at high ISO sensitivities and offers amazing low-light autofocus detection with Starlight Mode.

For video enthusiasts, the Z6III delivers pro-level video capabilities in a lightweight, compact form factor. Record stunning 6K internal RAW N-RAW footage up to 60p, or ProRes RAW up to 30p, with slow-motion capabilities up to 240p for 10X slow-motion output. The camera supports line-in audio and professional monitoring tools, along with compatibility for pro audio and XLR accessories. Enjoy Hi-Res Zoom with up to 2X digital zoom during HD recording and 1.4X during 4K recording, all without any loss in quality.

The advanced autofocus system, inherited from the Z8 and Z9 models, is approximately 20% faster than the Z6II and features sophisticated multi-subject recognition enhanced by Nikon's Deep Learning technology. It accurately detects human faces as small as -3% of the frame and offers reliable autofocus for backlit subjects. With automatic recognition of nine subjects, including people, dogs, cats, birds, airplanes, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and trains, the Z6III ensures you never miss a shot.

Versatile shooting features such as Pre-Release Capture and high-impact portrait options like Skin Softening and Portrait Impression Balance allow for creative control over your images. The camera's face and eye-detect autofocus works seamlessly in various AF modes, ensuring sharp focus on your subjects.

The Nikon Z6III boasts a best-in-class electronic viewfinder with a class-leading max brightness of 4000 nits, 5760k-dot resolution, and a 120 fps maximum refresh rate, providing a clear, vibrant view even in bright conditions. Its versatile 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD display and durable magnesium alloy and Sereebo body offer superior durability and weather resistance.

With dual card slots for SD UHS-II and CFexpress (Type B)/XQD, USB power delivery, and compatibility with the Nikon Imaging Cloud, the Z6III offers seamless connectivity and convenience. Keep your camera up to date with firmware upgrades and enjoy the ability to upload full-resolution images directly to your preferred cloud storage sites.

The Nikon Z6III Mirrorless Camera bundle is the ultimate tool for capturing stunning images and videos, delivering unmatched speed, performance, and versatility for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
