I really like the speed of the auto focus for my bird photography and facial recognition on people even a long distance away! I like the higher megapixels so that I can crop or pixel peak even up to 400%! Feels great in the hand, even tho a little heavier than my z6's. I should've just bought the Z8 instead of the Z6's esp. since I do a lot of bird photography.

Love my new Z8. Same great sensor as the Z9 but lighter and able to use the batteries from my D series cameras?as well as the pile of SD cards that I have.

After market Battery works find. 5 charges so far. So I save my Nikon ones at 80%. I have some little used 20 year old Nikon batteries which I keep in the cameras still rated as new. Using the flash as a slave with my 40 year old sensors although there is no swivel . Better idea is it lets the model know I am shooting with out effecting the photo due to the long distance. A pre flash is get ready with out any waving to bother others.

The products speak for themselves, all excellent. Adorama has been great to deal with, orders are easy to place and are filled quickly. They put together good bundles. The z8 has been everything I expected. Excellent ergonomics and features, beautiful camera.

Love this camera. I went from a D500 to the Z8. The difference in quality and range is amazing, night and day. Not heavy, smooth transition if you are coming from another Nikon camera. Great in low light and excellent if you're using it for wildlife and night photography. I highly recommend this camera.

My favorite Nikon yet! What a machine, it offers great flexibility at a great price for what it can do. This is the camera that got me excited about Nikon again and I bought it as soon as it came out. As a hybrid shooter this has opened new possibilities to my work, from shooting 8k to advanced zoom and internal recording at various formats this is the camera that will take you to the next place. Big enough to feel great in your hands while also having controls and the ability to customize them at your liking. I now made this into my A cam and my z6iii into my B cam. I also love the fact that it has a sensor curtain, when going to remote locations where the elements can get into you sensor this is crucial! I got a chance to travel to Antartica in 2021 with my z7 and z6 and got my sensors dirty... huge bummer to see so many great pictures ruined because of debris and no good way to do a proper cleaning. Lesson learned and I feature alone would have prevented that problem.

Best camera yet for my Bird Photography due to the auto focus system. Many more keepers over my Nikon D850 and D500. Tracking technology is magic. Battery has a shorter life however I just carry an extra battery...no problem.

I loved the first Z8 that I bought a 2nd one for my business. The quality of pictures and videos from this are amazing. Came from Z6 and Z6ii, which were good, but wow the Z8 is phenomenal!

I really like this camera and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a professional level camera. Good weight and good ergonomics. It is a little bit bigger than my Z7ii, but that is not an issue at all.

I have had the Z9 for awhile now. The camera is amazing. But the large size does sometime get in the way. I spend a lot of time on a kayak with my camera in a deck bag. The Z9 seems to be a smaller size. Auto focus is fantastic And much smaller size I see nothing except positive things with the Z*

Magnificent, wonderful and well-equipped is just a few of the things I can say about this camera. Since moving over to the Z-system from Sony I have found that the autofocus and ISO have been years beyond Sony. This camera does not disappoint, and the FPS (frames per second) is a definite upgrade from Sony.

Coming from a z7ii the z8 is phenomenal. While the z7 ii is no slouch the Z8 is faster to autofocus and can af in lower light which is amazing as the z7ii did a fantastic job. The image quality is virtually the same. For static images the z7ii and z8 are neck and neck. Add pixel shift shooting and all I can say is Wow!! For fast moving action and for when you must get that shot then the z8 is great. Still learning its features. For those concerned I'm keeping the Z7ii, not as backup but to supplement the z8

Nikon has again knocked it out of the park. The true successor to the D850. It's bigger and heavier than the Z7 but much more capable and easier to use coming from the D850. I love the button arrangement on the top left, the lighted buttons, and the sensor shield. Having a LCD screen that can flip out both horizontally and vertically is a big improvement.

I upgraded to the Z8 from my D700! Wow, sooo much more capability than I expected! I'm still very much in the exploratory/learning phase and I'm excited to explore all of the nuances and capabilities. The few photos I've shot have been exceptional! Looking forward to shooting much more this summer.

A great camera, I got used to the parameters quickly, this camera deserves the best place among other brands and among Nikon, for its price, it has no similar cameras

Transitioned from the D850 to Z8, thought I would keep the 850 for a backup but after two weeks with the Z8 the 850 was not an option...it's like getting a new guitar that is amazing to play and all the other guitars are now just taking up space...the hardest adjustment to a mirrorless camera for me was not being able to compose a shot without turning on the camera...the battery life was a concern until talking to another pro who said he just turns off the camera between setups or as he cha...

The Nikon Z 8 Mirrorless Camera is equipped with the power of the Nikon Z 9 in a smaller, lightweight modular design. You’ll have the versatility to use one of the dozens of NIKKOR Z mount lenses, or pair the Nikon Z8 with the Nikon Mount Adapter FTZ II for even more lens options. Whether you shoot action sports, portraiture, or wedding videography, the Nikon Z8 is the multifaceted tool you need in your kit.

This is everything you want in a full-frame hybrid camera. Image quality, precision, flexibility—and a compact, lightweight body. Video to stills. Commissions to passion projects. Don’t just create. Thrive.
The Nikon Z8 offers the same, powerful sensor that was first featured in the Z9. Its FX-format 45.7MP BSI stacked CMOS sensor will reduce rolling shutter and minimize noise — even when utilizing its ISO range of 32-102,400. And for those focused on the details, the camera’s 45.7MP resolution will capture it all beautifully.

You’ll have readout speeds that are about 10x faster than a Z7 II. As its paired with the stacked sensor design, you’ll benefit from its fast AF speeds, burst shooting rates, and high buffer capacity. The Nikon Z9 offers continuous shooting speeds of 20 fps when shooting in RAW, 30 fps in JPEG, 60 fps in 19MP JPEGs using a DX area, and a whopping 120 fps shooting rate when recording 11MP stills. You can even buffer over 1,000 RAW images in a burst. That’s about 50 seconds of continuous shooting.

Reach up to 8K video with a variety of frame rates with the Nikon Z8. The camera supports internal 12-bit RAW recording at up to 8.3K 60p in the N-RAW format, along with internal ProRES RAW HQ. You can achieve cinema-level video at 24p frame rate in both 8K and 4K. And, in full-frame 4K, you can utilize up to 120p for slow-motion.

Say goodbye to the slow speeds of a mechanical shutter. The Z8’s impressive electronic shutter can afford a top shutter speed of 1/32,000 seconds in all capture modes — this includes video. Meanwhile, the stacked sensor design will reduce motion distortion so you can accurately capture fast-moving objects with ease — optimal for sports or wildlife photographers.
An electronic shutter is beneficial for any photographer who values silent capturing. And when you prefer that added awareness, you can adjust the shutter volume to hear when a photo is taken.

Like the Z9, this camera is equipped with the same 493-point phase-detection AF system. You’ll receive the same high-speed communication that allows for AF readings up to 120 fps. Even more so, the Nikon Z8 has 3D Tracking AF and three Dynamic-Area AF modes to detect even fast-moving subjects and follow them with ease.
The Nikon Z8 can detect several different subjects including humans, animals, birds, cars, and airplanes. When you’re working in Auto-Area AF, these subjects will automatically be detected, will automatically be in focus, and then tracked when moving. And, in Starlight Mode, nighttime photographers can focus down to -9 EV.

For photographers working in low-light conditions, the major buttons on the Z8 will illuminate for easy operation in the dark. If you are a wildlife photographer who needs to remain discreet, you can use warm red menu tones to reduce the brightness. You can also adjust your Viewfinder Brightness to Lo1 or Lo2 depending on your personal preference.

The Nikon Z8 has the same cold tolerance as both the D6 and the Z9. This means you can shoot reliably in temperatures down to 14°F. For travel photographers, this will provide priceless peace of mind. The camera is built with pro-grade carbon fiber composite and robust magnesium alloy. This makes it both durable and lightweight at just two pounds.

The camera has a 3.69m-dot OLED panel with adjustable luminance to meet your needs. It also incorporates a four-axis tilting touchscreen LCD that’s 3.2" wide, utilizing 2.1m-dots. This will provide a clear, accurate representation of your image, while also allowing you to work from high and low angles, regardless of the image orientation.

The Nikon Z8 comes equipped with an EN-EL15c battery that offers about 340 frames per charge. There is also an optional grip that lets you load in two batteries, hot swappable. The camera will be compatible with other EN-EL15-series batteries.

Make sure your subjects look their best with the Nikon Z8’s Skin Softening capabilities, which will allow your subject’s skin to look its best while keeping hair, eyes, and other features looking sharp. And for group photos, the Z8 can achieve this for up to three subjects in a frame.
The Z8 also offers Portrait Impression Balance for even more control over hues and brightness, as well as improved White Balance. You can make manual adjustments, or select Auto White Balance, to achieve the best results.

Nikon knows that keeping your photos tack sharp is of the utmost importance. With the Z8, you’ll have 5.5 stops of 5-axis image stabilization built right into its body. So even prime lenses will have the benefits of VR for steadier footage

Like the Z9, the Nikon Z8 also has two USB Type C Ports. There’s one USB data connector (SuperSpeed USB) for file transfers and accessories. Then you can utilize the other port for charging and consistent power. There is also dual CFExpress Type B and SD card slots.
The USB Type C data connector port supports IEEE 802.3ab gigabit Ethernet with a compatible adapter. You can also achieve 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi to upload images to a secure FTP server straight from the camera.
