I've been very impressed by my 1.4X teleconverter. I am using it with my Nikon 180-600mm lens. Even in low light, I've been able to get really nice wildlife shots.

This is a great teleconverter. I coupled it with my Z 100 to 400 and my Z6 II and have used it for landscape and wildlife thus far. The 1.4 TC gives me the extra reach I needed and it provides virtually the same level of sharpness as the lens itself. Although you do lose one stop, it is hardly noticeable.

Using the Z TC 1.4 with my Z 70-180mm, the combination is great for carrying around town or on a hike. I will enjoy this for a long time.

I used the TC-1.4x on my 100-400mm z lens and Z8. Wow! The resulting images were very nice. I was taking photos of speakers in a convention hall and the extra reach of the 1.4 was just the ticket for me.

Love the extra reach with very little lost in quality. It is heavy for its size for consider this when taking it traveling, but well worth it in my opinion.

Great resolution and does not degrade the image quality. Feels little slow .in 3D-tracking mode.

I have not been a fan of teleconverters in the past as I feel they degrade the image quality and slow the lens speed (aperture). Nevertheless, I thought I would give the new Z 1.4x teleconverter a try and it has changed my opinion about teleconverters. It doesn't seem to cause any degradation in image quality and is as sharp as the lens it is attached to. It now has a semi-permanent place on my Z 100-400S zoom lens, as it is perfect for adding an extra bit of reach to that lens (140-560mm). It is perfect for capturing birds and wildlife in good light.

I've used many teleconverters and without question, this one works better than any I've tried before it. There's a reason it costs as much as a lens. It works. It just works all the time. It's best in decent to good light. I see no significant loss of image quality in good light and I see no distortion, etc. Highly recommended.

This is a great little TC. I have used it with my 100-400mm zoom and it works very well. The size is perfect of inserting into the lens setup. Images are a sharp to my eyes as the zoom itself.

I've used the TC-1.4X teleconverter with Nikon Z 400mm F/4.5 S once so far and I am very satisfied (see attached sharp image of a little Dark-eyed junco).

I could not be more pleased with the Z 1.4 teleconverter for my Z 400mm f4.5 VR S and Z 70-200mm f/2.8 VR S lenses. No distortion and crisp image to the edge. Looking forward to getting closer captures of wildlife and birds in flight.

It's a great addition to my lens bag. When I need more reach it works great without quality loss. Lightweight and easy. I use it with my Z9 and 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens. Perfection!

Excellent addition to my 180-600 lens. I can't tell any difference in image quality or focusing. Makes a great lens even a better at a reasonable cost.

I use this TC-1.4x with the NIKKOR Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S on a Z8 body with excellent results. Reach is extended out to 560mm and, if circumstances allow, switching from FX to DX mode kicks that range out another 1.5x. Image quality is excellent although at maximum FX extension you'll be shooting at f/8. On reasonably well-lit scenes you can shoot at f/8 and 1/2500 sec with an auto iso that generally remains below 4000, better in sunlight. This can freeze you up a big helping of Black-bellied Whistlers in New Orleans in December. Fun.

I've owned a few DSLR teleconverters over the past 40 years and the tradeoff was always more magnification, but with a loss in image quality. Nikon has somehow managed to increase the magnification by 1.4 with virtually no loss in image quality. Very highly recommended!

Unexpected surprise! I heard about the 2.0 losing some quality in the photo but it sure came in handy watching 50 eagles. We had a bright sunny day and I cannot honestly tell the difference. Glass I bought this for my z400 4.5!

Just got this teleconverter to use on the Nikkor Z 180-600mm zoom telephoto which I recently purchased. The results so far are nothing short of great. I was skeptical at first due to a bad experience I had with the "F" mount version mounted on my 200-500mm zoom telephoto. I had that one for only a short time due to the consistent softness of the focus especially at the 500mm level. This teleconverter has no problems throughout the entire range. It does have some occasional auto focus issues in some low light situations, but these can easily be corrected by switching to manual focus. The clincher was a test photo I took of a squirrel on the fence in my back yard mounting the teleconverter and 180-600 on my Z 7II. To get me even closer, I set the pixel setting to the full 45 megapixel setting and set the image six to the DX setting, giving me an equivalent of a 1260mm focal length. I handheld the camera-lens for these photos with the ISO set to 1600. The quality of the resulting photo (which I uploaded) convinced me that I no have a great combination for wildlife and sports photography without breaking the bank. I've also used this lens-teleconverter combination on my Z 6II with equally satisfying results. Hope to have more about my experience so far, but for now the TC-1.4x is a great addition to my camera bag.

First teleconverter I've ever used. Does not disappoint. Sharp crisp images seem to be as good as the lens its boosting. With the Z 100-400mm S lens I've shot macro as well as full telephoto with equal results.

I've had the F mount teleconverters, both the 1.4 and 2.0. The 1.4 was OK, but the 2.0 never worked for me. Since transitioning to the Z system and purchasing the 400mm f4.5 I figured I'd try the 1.4. Amazing is all I can say. Tack sharp. This combination is small, light weight and provides me with a 400mm and 560mm. Will definitely purchase the 2.0 for the 800mm reach.

I own the f version of this teleconverter as well and there is little comparison. I shot birds all day with the TC 1.4z on my 100-400mm z and really could not tell I had a teleconverter on other than the magnification. A great product.

I've used the Z TC 1.4x teleconverter on the Z 70-200 2.8S and the Z 800 6.3S and, other than the mandatory one stop of light loss, I've not found any loss of performance. It is definitely a cut above the F-mount TC. It goes with me when I carry either of the above mentioned lens.

Like so many aspects of the mirrorless Z system, the Z TELECONVERTER TC-2.0x defies traditional limitations. It can use every focus point of your Z series sensor all the way to f/11—unprecedented for teleconverters. Quickly acquire subjects at the edges of the frame and track them throughout your view.
