It is so nice and comforting to know that my monolight is covered. While I have a heavy duty c-stand and am very careful when handholding a monolight (the item being covered) I can concentrate on what I'm doing and not overly worry about my light being damaged.

A couple of months ago I hit my flash and broke it. Bottom of the flash, that you attach to hot shoe broke. Inside of the flash - wire and everything remained unbroken, however, they flash could not be used any more, because the bottom, was just hanging on the wire. Clearly my fault breaking it. My flash is still under manufacturer warranty, but everyone knows that manufacturer's warranty covers only manufacture defects, they are not going to fix something, that was obviously my fault breaking. So I got in touch with Leaf insurance that I purchased with my flash, and they double checked that it should be covered by them, not Canon. Fixed my flash. No complains about that. A month later I receive a letter stating that I owe them $300, and that it was "normal ware and tear" and that it is still "under MFG coverage and not new leaf coverage". I got in touch with Canon asking them if they consider my case normal ware and tear and would they fix it under MFG coverage, the answer was no. However Leaf still decided that it is still normal wear and tear and I am responsible to pay for repair. What's the point of having such insurance? Next time I will look for a different insurance company for sure will never purchase Leaf again. Really mad and disappointed!
