For the price and what you get from it, it's a very good idea to purchase an extended warranty. I haven't had anything go wrong with my equipment but if I ever do I know I'll be covered!

AS an older (87years old) photographer things happen unexpectedly to equipment in use that wouldn't have occurred in earlier times. I don't move as quickly or as easily as when I was younger. This can lead to drops and slips which may damage lenses or camera bodies. Having this insurance makes photography in later life much more enjoyable. It also helps to continue an activity I have enjoyed for many years,I typically have about a three year cycle for camera bodies and lenses, so the 3year insurance fits.

I feel that the New Leaf service contract is a wonderful deal for the money. I take my cameras everywhere into back country on backpacking so they take a significant amount of use in adverse conditions. I can recommend this to anyone. I had a service contract on a Tamron 15-30 lens and as the autofocus broke I was able to return it and get it reparied with no hassle.
