It was slightly less robust than the Bushnell Legacy WP 10x50, and, I assume, the discontinued Bushnell 8x42, and the warranty is somewhat less helpful. However, this Nikon Aculon 8x42 binocular's quality for the price can not be beat by any other available model. My wife finds it easy to use. The case is junk, wo a strap, and too small to add closed-cell blue foam/ensolite padding to the inside. Find a strapped shoulder bag with a real zipper (not spiral type) AND a flap/strap with a clip to backup the zipper for safety. Use a Ziplock bag inside to keep the binoc dust free. The binoc strap plastic adjuster is NOT secure, despite my very careful following the installation steps. Experiment (carefully) to find the best length for you, and sew the strap to that fixed length with durable thread. The eyepiece cap is good. The objective caps are useless because they can not be fixed to a cord/the binoc, and will soon be lost.

I have 3 separate protection plans. 1 for my new Nikon D7500, 1 for my new Nikon 70-300 mm lens and 1 for my Flashpoint Wave Commander wireless intervalometer. I have not had to use any of the three as yet. It is the comfort that I get by knowing that if needed for any reason including accidental drops is covered by these plans. My camera equipment is an investment and I fell very comfortable having them coverd.

I always get insurance with any equipment I buy. I have had to use leaf in the past in order to replace a piece of equipment. They were wonderful!!!!! Easy to work with and so helpful. I always advise people to pay the extra for it because no matter how delicately we handle our equipment, things happen.
